Meng-Meng Zhou Background: In geotechnical engineering, the most commonly used numeri- cal soil models are the Drucker-Prager model, the hardening soil model (HS- model), and the clay and sand model (CASM), which are characterized by different parameter sets due to their difference in model complexity. Task: Within this master thesis the following tasks are to be completed: -- Theoretical study on the three soil models -- Investigation of analytical relations among the input parameters -- Possibly implementation of the hardening soil model -- Comparative study of the three models on triaxial tests This thesis can be written either in English or in German. Master’s Thesis

Comparative study of three elasto-plastic soil models

Supervisor: Dr.-Ing. Meng-Meng Zhou

Background: In geotechnical engineering, the most commonly used numeri-cal soil models are the Drucker-Prager model, the hardening soil model (HS-model), and the clay and sand model (CASM), which are characterized by different parameter sets due to their difference in model complexity.
