Texas Declares independence from Mexico› People in Texas fled toward the United States

because they were fearful for their lives. This movement was called the Runaway Scrape. Runaway Scrape was the name Texans applied to the Flight of Texans when Santa Anna began his conquest.

men to leave the Alamo because he knew the battle was hopeless.

› After the news of the Fall of the Alamo spread, people from all over Texas began to leave everything and make their way to safety, which marked the beginning of the Runaway Scrape on a large scale.
