Math This week we will continue working on subtracting whole numbers within one thousand. Homework is given Monday-Thursday and is due on Friday, September 28th. Please make sure you are also signing your child’s agenda daily. Helpful Websites www.usatestprep.com www.prodigygame.com www.ixl.com Social Studies and Science This week we will continue our study on the geographical regions (Blue Ridge Mountains, Piedmont, Coastal Plains, Valley and Ridge, and Appalachian Plateau) of Georgia. This students will be working on a group project in class so please stress to them the importance of working cooperatively as the project and grade will be a joint effort. Students will have an assessment on Friday. The study guide will go home Monday, September 24, 2018. Please make sure you are also signing your child’s agenda daily. 3 rd Grade Homework Homework is given nightly Monday- Thursday and is expected to be completed and turned in at the appropriate deadline. If you have any questions about your child’s homework please don’t hesitate to ask. We will have our spelling / Vocabulary test on Thursday and the Reading Comprehension on Friday. Our spelling words this week include: state, lead, draft, write, scramble, and work. Our vocabulary words include: compromise, govern, government, agree, agreement, disagreement, represent, delegates, branches, and amend. There is a study guide on the back of the newsletter with practice for spelling and vocabulary. I hope this help with the studying. We are almost finished with our Interactive Read Aloud, "The BFG". I know the students are looking forward to seeing the movie when the book is complete. Both Mrs. Washington and Mrs. Goodson are setting up accounts for students to be able to practice reading and answering online stories on readworks.org. Typetastic.com is another website that is good for them to practice typing skills. Estudios sociales y ciencia

Esta semana continuaremos nuestro estudio sobre las regiones geográficas (Blue Ridge Mountains, Piedmont, Coastal Plains, Valley y Ridge, y Appalachian Plateau) de Georgia. Estos estudiantes trabajarán en un proyecto grupal en clase, así que enfatíceles la importancia de trabajar cooperativamente ya que el proyecto y la calificación serán un esfuerzo conjunto. Los estudiantes tendrán una evaluación el viernes. La guía de estudio se enviará a casa el lunes 24 de septiembre de 2018.

Al leer esta semana, completaremos nuestra lectura compartida, La Constitución de los Estados Unidos, y comenzaremos nuestro próximo libro, "El Congreso de los Estados Unidos. Tendremos nuestra prueba de ortografía / vocabulario el jueves y la Comprensión de lectura en Viernes. Nuestras palabras de ortografía esta semana incluyen: estado, plomo, borrador, escritura, lucha y trabajo. Nuestras palabras de vocabulario incluyen: compromiso, gobierno, gobierno, acuerdo, acuerdo, desacuerdo, representar, delegados, sucursales y enmendar. una guía de estudio en la parte posterior del boletín informativo con práctica de ortografía y vocabulario.
