INSIDE THE 815...

What will it be like to encounter the risen Lord?

Jesus did not simply return to normal biological life as one who, by the laws of biology, would eventually have to die again; and

Jesus is not a ghost (“spirit”). In other words, he does not belong to the realm of the dead but is somehow able to reveal himself in the realm of the living.

Next week is also called Good Shepherd Sunday. Usually it is a day to pray for vocations to the ordained priesthood… For the next two Sundays, we will feature here in the bulletin the vocation stories of some of our priests in the diocese…

Stay tuned…

Vic ms of Abuse

God of endless love, ever caring, ever strong, always present, always just: You gave your only Son to save us by his blood on the cross. Gentle Jesus, shepherd of peace, join to your own suffering the pain of all who have been hurt in body, mind, and spirit

by those who betrayed the trust placed in them. Hear the cries of our brothers and sisters who have been gravely harmed,

and the cries of those who love them. Soothe their restless hearts with hope, steady their shaken spirits with faith.

Grant them jus ce for their cause, enlightened by your truth. Holy Spirit, comforter of hearts, heal your people’s wounds

and transform brokenness into wholeness. Grant us the courage and wisdom, humility and grace, to act with jus ce.

Breathe wisdom into our prayers and labors. Grant that all harmed by abuse may find peace in jus ce.

We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
