When Jesus moved on, those overturned stalls would be righted and trade wouldcontinue as before.  Forty years after the death of Jesus a generation of Jews wouldweep for the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. They wept for the absence of theirholy place not for the loss of the marketplace that had grown about it.As we journey with Jesus deeper into Lent let us consider what this gospel means tous. Jesus bringing anger into the sacred place is difficult, for, as people of faith, we feelwe should leave anger at the church door, yet it was Jesus’ love for God, the templeand its people which motivated his actions! Acceptance and indifference changenothing. People angered by injustices fight in the belief that things should be different- just. There is righteous anger, an honest reckoning that looks at the world as Godlooks at the world.

Novena to St Joseph 10 -18 MarchPope Francis has dedicated this year to St Joseph, to mark the 150th anniversary of the declaration ofPope Pius IX of St Joseph as the Patron of the Universal Church. 2020 has been one of exceptionaldifficulties and challenges. The hope is, as we move into 2021 that the current vaccine rollout willeventually provide some relief from the pandemic that has blighted all our lives over the past twelvemonths.
