The exams for the Certified Professional SoilScientist certification and state Soil Scientistl icensing programs are developed andmaintained by the Council of Soil ScienceExaminers (CSSE). The certification program, inits entirety, is overseen by the Soils CertifyingBoardoftheSoilScienceSocietyofAmerica.

To achieve certification as a CertifiedProfessional Soil Scientist (CPSS), you arerequired to pass the Fundamentals of SoilScienceexam.Examsareoffered twiceperyearin a range of locations across the United StatesandCanada.Theremaybedifferentdeadlinesinthesestates.

Youmustpass theFundamentalsofSoilScienceExam before you can take the ProfessionalPracticeExam.Youmayonlytakeoneexamperexamdate.

Soil Science Exam Information TBPG utilizes the Council of Soil ScienceExaminers (CSSE) exam, administered by CSSE.Formoreinformationontheexam,visittheCSSEwebsite or call 608/273-8085. Proof of passingscores on both portions of the CSSE exam isrequired in order to be licensed in the soilscience discipline. If you have passed the CSSESoil Science licensing examinations, pleasedownload Form V – CSSE Verification of ExamScores and submit completed form to CSSE forverification of exam scores. CSSEwill forwardverificationdirectlytoTBPG.
