#244. Valve, triode, Grounded Grid. By Mullard Type number TY6000A. Rated for up to six kilowatts but can idle along at one kilowatt for a linear and will heat the shack as well ! This is a heavy item and designed to sit on a chassis support ring thus the grid ring is in direct contact with ground. Connections are heater with centre tap made by clips designed to contact the connections direct and locked in position by finger nuts. The clips are supplied with the valve. The grid is a ring surrounding the glass support tube that sits in a chassis ring. Beware, the heater is rated at 33 amps at 12.6 volts. Can be used up to 55 MHz. with full rate anode voltage given as 6000 V at 1500 mA. English Electric equivalent BR1165C. This valve was acquired for a linear amplifier project for a coast station but the project was cancelled. Believed to be low hours. Heater transformer available by contacting GW3WEQ
