#2One month!

This is all that separates us from the most anticipated event of the year! Żagle 2021. Sailing Szczecin Invites You – this is the final straight in the preparations for this special event.

See for yourself!

July 16 marks the beginning of the Baltic Regatta, during which the teams will be competing in two stages. Tallinn – Klaipeda and Klaipeda – Szczecin. Together the stages require sailing for about 500 nautical miles.

We know already that today, among those entering the final port in Szczecin, will be Fryderyk Chopin, Generał Zaruski, Atyla (Spain), Shtandart (Russia), Krasotka (Russia), which will then take part in one stage and the entire regatta. Moreover, arriving in Szczecin will be other yachts and other sailing boats, not as part of the races but wanting to be involved in the event.

Visit www.balticregatta.eu for more information about the race.

Baltic Regatta

Following intense training and several meetings, we are confident that the team members are ready to take part in the event, namely Żagle 2021. Sailing Szczecin Invites You.

The team representing Szczecin will depart on board Dar Szczecina and Pogoria in its dark blue and maroon livery with the intent of maintaining the traditions and bravely competing in the Baltic Regatta. During the many hours spent at sea they will not only discover the beauty of sailing, but as a full-time crew they will participate in navigational, boatswain’s, galley and port watch tasks. They will also have to undertake much hard work every day on board.

For those who like last minute trips, there are still places left on Pogoria. The sailing ship is still recruiting crew for both stages of the race. For more details about recruiting for the Baltic Regatta, please visit www.zagle2021.szczecin.eu.

The crew is ready, we can depart

Preparations are entering a decisive phase. The sale of stands, which are a part of the Fair under the Sails, began at the end of June and we can already see the Holiday Park in Łasztownia.

Cleo with a special concert

On Saturday 31 July, Cleo will perform at the Netto Arena in Szczecin. It will be a unique concert. Especially for the audience of Szczecin, Cleo prepared the first performance of her new single entitled “Na Fali” (“On the wave”). The song is full of inspirations straight from Szczecin, which are very easy to find; holidays, fun by the water and, of course, sailing. The lyrics of the song were written by Cleo herself, who always emphasizes that she is a native inhabitant of Szczecin. Sylwester Ostrowski and Szymon Orłowski were responsible for music production. Moreover, the song and the video clip feature some famous and popular inhabitants of Szczecin; singers Kasia Buja and Konrad Słoka as well as the Baltic Neopolis Quartet. The official première of Cleo’s “Na Fali” takes place at the beginning of July. The producer is the Artistic Agency in Szczecin.

The event is getting closer

The priority of the organisers is to ensure the safety of the participants of the event. It is therefore important that the event takes place in accordance with all the regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Disinfectants and information on respecting social distancing or wearing masks in the required areas will be present on site at the event.

In the case of people taking part in the Baltic Regatta, the organizers recommend the possession of a “covid passport” – the EU COVID certificate – to help facilitate travel for people:

• vaccinated against COVID-19,

• recovering after the disease,

• with a negative result from the PCR test, the document is valid for 48 hours after the receipt of a test result.

Safety

Temporary reorganisation of traffic

Żagle 2021. Sailing Szczecin Invites You is a new addition to our map of holiday events, with a fair chance of remaining on the calendar for good. Like every open-air event in the area of Wały Chrobrego i Łasztownia, it will require a few changes in the organisation of traffic, which will be put in place from 28 July and will last until 3 August.

For this reason we would like to inform the inhabitants about the possibility of collecting passes. They will be ready for collection from 21 July at the office issuing passes at ul. Jana z Kolna 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m.
