Work the crocodile in continuous rounds without joining the rounds with a slip stitch. It

would be wise to use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn in different colour and place it in

the first stitch of each round to mark the beginning of it.

The head, body and tail will be crocheting one-piece from head toward tail and starting

with the magic ring.

The example corocodile is about 12 cm long, the length of your crocodile depends on the

choice of yarn.

Supplies:

⎆ yarn (by crocheting the example crocodile I have used 100% cotton yarn Steinbach

Wolle Capri)

⎆ crochet hook 2,5 mm

⎆ safety eyes with oval pupils ⍉ 10 mm

⎆ polyester fiberfill

Abbreviations:

sl st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

ch – chain stitch

hdc – half double crochet

rep – repeat

st(s) – stitch(es)

2 sc in next sc – 2 single crochet stitches in next single crochet stitch / increase

sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together / decrease. Invisible decrease: insert the hook

into the front loop of the first stitch (2 loops on hook). Insert the hook into the front

loop of the next stitch (3 loops on hook). Yarn over and draw through the first two loops

on the hook. (2 loops on hook). Yarn over and draw through both loops on the hook.

Invisible decrease completed.

(...) rep 3 times – repeat the segment in the brackets 3 times

(=21) – the number after equal sign shows the number of stitches at the end of the row.

If after some row number there is only this kind of information then you have to crochet

1 single crochet stitch in each stitch around and at the end of the row you will have the

same number of stitches as at the end of the previous row.

Attach safety eyes so that one eye is before the half double crochet stitches and the other eye after half double stitches.

Begin stuffing the head with fiberfill. Add some stuffing as the work processes.

Sew the legs to the bottom of the body. Front legs on the 20th row and back legs on 30th row.

THORNS ON THE BACK

Make 3.

Ch 22. Counting from the 2nd st from hook make 1 sl st. (Ch 2. Counting from the 2nd st from hook make 1 sl st. Skip 1 st on the chain and make 1 sl st into next st).

Sew the rows of thorns on the back beginning between row 17 and 18.
