Fighting soldiers from the sky Fearless men who jump and die

Men who mean just what they say The brave men of the Green Beret

Silver wings upon their chest These are men, America's best

One hundred men will test today But only three win the Green Beret

Trained to live off nature's land Trained in combat, hand-to-hand Men who fight by night and day

Courage peak from the Green BeretsSilver wings upon their chest

These are men, America's best One hundred men will test today

But only three win the Green BeretBack at home a young wife waits Her Green Beret has met his fate He has died for those oppressed

Leaving her his last requestPut silver wings on my son's chest Make him one of America's best

He'll be a man they'll test one day Have him win the Green Beret.

Being a Teenager in 1966 Hello, my name is Opal. I am 15 years old and both of my parents are hippies. However I do not want to follow in their footsteps of being a hippie. I like peace and all but all of their peace rituals are very annoying. I know what you’re thinking, all parents are annoying, but mine are much worse. Some times they stay up all night, while I’m trying to sleep, singing songs with their friends. My mom expects me to pick up the hippie ways but I much rather just hang out with my friends. Every evening my parents and I go out to the local park and look for wild flowers. I would say that it is really boring however I don’t want to hurt their feelings. I don’t like flowers and bell bottom jeans. I love short dresses and go-go boots! They are the most hip thing in the world!!! Even though I have to deal with many problems I suppose it’s cool being a teen in 1966.
