Our students and staff have all been fighting illness over the past couple of weeks and I am sure we all welcome the weekend as a chance to lay low and relax. I would like to thank all of you for your participation in Catholic Schools Week last week. Our Student Council did a great job organizing our week! We also received positive feedback on Grandparents Day celebra- tion. Many of us thoroughly enjoyed celebrating a multi-generational Mass and then releasing students early to enjoy a full afternoon with their grandparents. Our Kinder and 4 th grade classes led us in our First Friday celebration this morning focusing on love and kindness. In February, when we cele- brate Valentine’s Day, we reflect on the love and trust that we have in God, our families, friends, and in each other. Our journeys of faith and trust in God and in our families are often very personal journeys. Mar- riages, births, deaths, illnesses, joys and sorrows ~ all of them are in God’s plan for us. At times it is difficult to decipher their meaning and this is where trust in God’s plan can falter. As Lent is quickly approach- ing (Ash Wednesday is the 26 th !) I plan on challenging my heart to put trust in the plan – even if right now I can’t understand the meaning. I hope that through this time of prayer and reflection my trust can grow and that I can deepen my personal relationship with God. Not an easy undertaking, but one worth the effort! We have much to celebrate and be grateful for this week at St. Pat’s. Yesterday our first “Pop Up” Class celebrating Black History Month was held. I want to thank Linda Reynoso and the volunteers who helped her, for providing an engaging, fun afternoon celebrating our diversity. We also wish our Robotics and Math Counts teams the best in their tourna- ments this weekend. I feel truly blessed that we are able to offer such great programs and experiences – athletic, academic, and cultural – for our students. As Lent is just around the corner, please look for resources to come home in the Curriculum Corner as we draw closer to this most holy time in our Church. It is my hope that the resources we provide will help your family draw closer to the Gospel message this Lent. Have a restful weekend! Maureen Halderman February 7, 2020

Ways to fulfill your scrip obligation: Reminder: the Scrip year ends on April 30, 2020 Office: You can come into the office and shop the cards we have on hand. You can also place an order for

anything that Great Lakes Scrip offers that we do not have in the office. We will be ordering on THURSDAY (if needed!) so call or email [email protected] with your order to find out if we are ordering that THURSDAY. Orders placed on THURSDAY are received on the following Monday or Tuesday.

Email: You are welcome to email the office ladies with your order. They will fill it as soon as all of the cards you want are available, and then call you. You can then either pick the order up with the payment, or we can send the order home with your student, once payment is received.

Online: Go to www.glscrip.com and set up your family account to place your order directly with Great Lakes Scrip. You can then pay for them when they arrive with the order that the office places on Fridays, or, you can set up a Presto Pay Account with Great Lakes Scrip and pay them directly. Then your order will be released when we order on Fridays. Let us know if you want us to send it home with your student.

Re-loadable Cards. If you have a Presto Pay Account set up, you can go online to reload some of the cards you already have! Our Scrip program makes money for our school and helps keep your tuition affordable! The $210.00/$235.00 scrip profit and the additional scrip purchased above those amounts, all help with the budget.
