WORSHIP NOTES Welcome to Easter worship at COS. Today we celebrate the most important event in all of history, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave. Because it happened, it will happen for you too. Because it happened, everything he’s told us is true. These are the things that Easter is really about. Without his resurrection and his Word, we’d be lost. But with them his victory becomes ours through the gift of faith.

Christ is risen. He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

You are welcome to take family pictures in the chancel up to ten minutes before the start of the worship services and any time after their conclusion. COS mem-bers are asked to send them to [email protected] so that the online directory can be updated.

Nursery care is offered during the 10:45 am Sunday service in Room 101. You can drop off your children either before the start of worship or after the children’s message. Children are welcome to stay in the service too. Quiet Bags and Chil-dren’s Bulletins are available at the Welcome Center.

K-4th grade Kids’ Church will not be held today in order to accommodate the seating for the Easter Breakfast Buffet.

The sanctuary is equipped with Williams Hearing Assist technology. Personal re-ceivers are at the AV console in the rear of the sanctuary.

If you provided flowers for the chancel planter, thank you! You may take yours home after the 10:45 am service or after worship next weekend. If you can’t remember what you ordered, a list is available at the Welcome Center.

PERSONAL PRAYER BEFORE WORSHIP O living Lord, you are risen from the dead! By your resurrection you have defeated Satan, broke death’s hold on us, and destroyed the power of sin. As we worship you this morning help us to see our forgiveness, our victory, and the hope of our own res-urrections in the Good News of your triumphant rising from the grave.

HYMN: JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN TODAY

CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION

L: Christ is risen! C: He is risen indeed, Alleluia!

L: In the waters of Holy Baptism God liberates us from the power of sin and death, forever joining us to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. May God’s promise of everlasting life be renewed in us as we remem-ber our baptisms.

C: Most merciful God, we confess to you all of the sins with which we have ever offended you. We are deserving of your punishment, and beg your forgiveness. For the sake of Jesus Christ alone, do not forsake us.

L: Jesus Christ our Savior gave himself for us, redeeming us from all sin and cleansing us to be people who are eager to do what is good.

Through the water of rebirth and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, God saves us, renews us in grace, and bestows on us eternal life. C: Amen. CHOIR Because He Lives
