Episodes of generational conflict in antiquity--in demo- cratic Athens and republican Rome--have lessons to teach about the tensions and challenges of our present moment. New Member Profiles Gerald Ross III was named the Regional Director of Residential Programming for Echoing Hills Village in the Southwest Region in 2018, adding Day Program-ming to his responsibilities a few months ago. Jerry has worked in the field of Developmental Disabilities for the last 15 years, for 10 years in Portage County, then in Coshocton County before moving to Mont-gomery County at the beginning of 2018. as an ac-complished public speaker, he is a frequent presenter at professional conferences (OPRA). Early in his ca-reer he worked in Higher Education Admissions and began his professional life in Radio Broadcast-ing. Jerry received a Bachelor's Degree from Alma

(MI) College in Psychology and a Master's Degree from Central Michigan University in General Psychology - Neuroscience focus. He has three Irish Setters and walks each of them almost every morning, usually tally-ing between 6 and 8 miles each day on dog walks, sometimes as many as 14 depending on the weather. His wife Kimberly is a student (4 more classes!) at Wright State University in the Organizational Leadership pro-gram. Jerry and Kimberly reside in Englewood and have three children. Robert Woodhull a lifelong Daytonian currently lives in Kettering and Works in Springboro where the family business’s headquarters in located. He is also a new generation of the Woodhull family to serve Rotary continuously since the clubs incep-tion. On May 27th of 1912, 16 Daytonians met to form the club, one of those members was James R. Woodhull, a charter member of this club and Rob-erts great great Uncle. Robert went to Miami Uni-versity and graduated from University of Dayton with a General studies degree and a minor in graph-ic design. During time at Miami and UD started 3

companies before getting into the family business a year after graduation. Robert has spent the last 6 years working at Woodhull LLC. He started on the delivery truck moving through 4 roles, fourth and current role being Marketing Manager where he helps share the 70-year Woodhull narrative and branding efforts in their 3 markets, Dayton, Cincinnati, and Colum-bus. In his free time, he likes to BBQ and hangout with his English bull-dog Booger. He has a lot of passion for the Dayton area thanks to his grandmother Jean Woodhull and is excited to caring on the family legacy of developing the region through the Rotary. President Jean welcomed two new Rotarian members, Jerry Ross introduced by Linda Groover and Robert Woodhull introduced by his father. Jay Woodhull. Tracey Tomme had her Red Ribbon removed and is an “official” Rotarian. President Jean then announced that the Club is looking for a Social Committee Chair please see Jean if you are in-terested in leading this group. Greg Birkemeyer made and announcement of behalf of the District and he nominated Frank Scott for District Governor Nominee for South West OH for District 6670 for 2022-2023. Jim Gallagher, chair of the day introduced the guest speaker, David Tillotson III, Director of the National Museum of the US Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Tillotson discussed ways to make the National Museum a better part of the Dayton Community, which included a new GPS Interactive Exhibit, highlighting women in the Airforce and female aviators, creating a Space Simulation Program, and extend operat-ing hours every first Thursday from 5pm-8pm. The Museum will also open selected B-1 Bomb-ers for visitors to walk through in February along with allowing citizens to have events at the US Airforce Museum. The queen of hearts ticket was drawn and Rick Wegmann had the winning ticket unfortunately he didn't draw the queen and now there are 31 cards left in the deck. The next meeting will be held January 13 at Sin-clair Community College. The speaker will be Larry Welborn, Professor of Early Christianity at Fordham University, New York and Professor of Ancient History at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.

District Matching Point Program For your Paul Harris Fellowship

District 6670 point matching program for the Rotary year contin-ues till June 30, 2020 or as long as the matching points are available. They will match donations to Annual Fund Share and Polio Plus. The minimum donation to receive a match is $100 as the minimum point transfer is 100 points. Remember all the good that can be done in the world with your donation. For your own recognition, a Paul Harris Fellowship (PHF) can now be-come a reality. For a $500 donation you can become a Paul Harris Fellow. The District will add 500 points and you will re-ceive your PHF. If you are wondering where you are towards your next or your first PHF you can contact Frank Scott at [email protected] . He has access to your current level and can tell you the donation you need to get to the next level.
