disaster response volunteersIf you would like to help those affected by the Oklahoma tornadoes, register online at pcamna.org/disaster-response for overnight trips or contact Laura Atherton at 918-261-2813 for day trips. The main effort in OK is building Sheds of Hope (storage sheds) for tornado victims to store their belongings. To contribute, go to the MNA website. In Granbury, TX, we will be working through Habitat for Humanity as they rebuild/repair the 58 Habitat homes that were destroyed or damaged by tornadoes. west africa medical tripPCPC’s partner in West Africa, New Harvest Missions International, is sponsoring a short-term medical trip to Togo this summer, August 15–25 (includes travel time). Its greatest need is for a dentist and two nurses, and another doctor to see pediatric patients (pediatrician, family medicine, emergency medicine) would also be great. doulos leadership retreatThe Doulos leadership retreat is five sunny days of great teaching, beaching, and training in leadership, July 22–26, Galveston, Texas. The trip is open to all incoming seventh and eighth grade students. Students must apply for this trip. Applications can be found at www.pcpcmiddleschool.org. Cost is $250. Those who are a part of this trip will be a part of a leadership team during the school year that will meet on a monthly basis and participate in various service opportunities. international cultural exchangeAll youth students are invited to join the high school mission team as we host 16 students from China for 10 days, July 26–August 3. Students will be studying English and learning about American culture throughout the week, and we have lots of fun events planned for both American and Chinese students! summer bible conferenceThe Hebrew prophet of the Babylonian exile, Ezekiel, will be examined in this summer’s Bible conference, Thursdays, July 11–August 1, 10:30 am–12:30 pm, Oak Lawn West. Ron Williams will seek to show us the message of this prophet and the Gospel he preached. Stephen Nielson will perform and accompany the robust singing of traditional gospel hymns. Lunch will be provided (for free) following each session.
