This Week Adv. Meengs: FFA Week The building has been buzzing with science fair preparaon. Our science team does an outstanding job supporng our students through every step of the science fair process. Experiments are taking place in all corners of the building, students are wring up their results, and plans to create a presentaon board are underway. In our 1:1 age, even when technology is omnipresent in many science experiments, I find something soothing and comforng in seeing our students work with paper, glue, colors, borders, photos, and other decorave touches as they create these presentaon boards. I do not think we should ever stop cung with scissors, pasng with rubber cement, and visualizing a well-designed board that is appealing to the eye. An extra bonus to the science fair process is ulizing, refining, and geng accustomed to public speaking. Universally public speaking is always ranked at the very top as many peoples number one fear. Our students benefit greatly from learning how to tackle (or maybe just elbow it lightly out of the way during the course of their presentaon) this very real fear. Our Indiana Academic Standards note the important of public speaking and communicaon skills. Its a great win when our teachers unite to discuss how to best approach a public presentaon. Our science fair will be Wednesday, March 18. Adv. Meetings:

FFA Week

The building has been buzzing with science fair preparation. Our science team does an outstanding job supporting our students through every step of the science fair process. Experiments are taking place in all corners of the building, students are writing up their results, and plans to create a presentation board are underway. In our 1:1 age, even when technology is omnipresent in many science experiments, I find something soothing and comforting in seeing our students work with paper, glue, colors, borders, photos, and other decorative touches as they create these presentation boards. I do not think we should ever stop cutting with scissors, pasting with rubber cement, and visualizing a well-designed board that is appealing to the eye. An extra bonus to the science fair process is utilizing, refining, and getting accustomed to public speaking. Universally public speaking is always ranked at the very top as many people’s number one fear. Our students benefit greatly from learning how to tackle (or maybe just elbow it lightly out of the way during the course of their presentation) this very real fear. Our Indiana Academic Standards note the important of public speaking and communication skills. It’s a great win when our teachers unite to discuss how to best approach a public presentation. Our science fair will be Wednesday, March 18.
