A note to the Parents: Please make sure your child has an extra change of clothes in his/her backpack in case of accidents or milk spills. School starts at 8:15a and your child is considered late if they are not here by 8:25a. School is over at 3:25 p.m. Please remember that if you are picking up your child you are to wait in the line and tell the teacher outside your child’s name for car riders. If you are picking your child up in the front of the building everyday he/she will be a “walker”. After 3:30-3:35 all students who have not been picked up with go to the office to wait for their ride. Please remember to call the office if your child is ill. Thank you! Remember your child’s K.I.N.D. Binder everyday! We do go outside at 10:00 a.m. and again at 2:00 p.m. **From the student handbook: All students should be outside during the recess periods unless inclement weather. Students should bring a note if they are not physically able to go outside. Winter Weather Policy The following are procedures for sending students outside for recess during cold weather. Students will be allowed to go outside unless: 1. Temperature is below 20 degrees. 2. Wind chill is below 20 degrees. 3. Playground area is not cleaned, icy or wet. There are times when the temperature is below 20 degrees but there is no wind chill or no wind. After careful consideration, the children may be allowed to go outside for a short time. The weather station will be used in determining whether to go outside or to stay inside. Please keep homework packets in your child’s binder. Made a Polar Express glyph Colored pages where we had to follow the directions and color things the correct colors; ie: sight words, rhyming, and numbers. We made another class book: …could hear the bell because… Played a sight word game: The sight words were on ornaments cut out and in baggies. As a team (tables) they had to put the words together and figure out what sight word it was. They recorded it on a sheet of paper with blank ornaments. IF they got the word correct, and worked together as a team they got 2 points. They had fun! Everyone was a winner! Friday we played on laptops- They went to starfall.com I am so impressed with how easily it is for them to navigate on the laptops!
