During the fi rst two days, we will be learning about and exploring the new V8 Designer Plus software with BER-NINA Ambassador Claudia Dinnell.

SewWhatEver Thursday Nights 6 - 9 p.m.

Class Fee: $10

JUNEWIPSJune 1

Nelson Mandela said, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” So, let’s get to work and it will be done before you know it!

WIPSJune 8

Always be in a work in progress. There is always more to learn and there are always ways to change ourselves for the better. Who knows, maybe someone has a tidbit to share that can improve the way you sew!

WIPSJune 15

Small progress is still progress. You can’t build a sturdy building in a day. Bit by bit gets you closer and closer. Keep going!

WIPSJune 22

The only time you should ever look back is to see how far you’ve come. You’ve come far! Keep it up!

Mystery QuiltJune 29Taught by Maudie Borget

Keep calm and sew on! You’ll fi gure it out! Take a deep breath - you got this.

JULYWIPSJuly 6

“It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort. And when you implement that effort into your life every single day, that’s where transformation hap-pens. Keep going and remember why you started. It’s going to be great!

For SewWhatEver this next summer quarter, we’ll be doing something different. The projects

have been fun to learn and to teach, but this quarter we’re changing things up a bit. We want to help you get your UFO’s done! We’ve come up with a way for you to accomplish this. Every Thursday night will be opensew to give you time to work on your UFO’s. We will continue with our Block of the Month this quarter, the “Mystery Quilt,” and it will still be on the last Thursday of the month unless noted. We may surprise you with another project here and there, but for the most part, it will be opensew. Also, we will be changing the class time to begin at 6 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m. We’ve chosen a theme to make things fun, and you will have the chance to put your name into a drawing for a special prize at the end of the quarter. We will still have

the punch card, treats and lots of fun just being together and sewing. Here’s how it works: Bring your unfi nished projects to work on at SewWhatEver and complete them. Every time you complete a project which could be just putting the binding on - we will put your name into a drawing. At the end of the quarter, we will draw three winners. You must be present to win. Our theme for the summer quarter is to enjoy 18 weeks of “Sweet Escape.” Escape with us and take care of your WIP’s (Work in Progress) this summer. Look through all your WIP’s and decide which ones to keep and work on and which ones to give away. Take care of the ones that just need to be thrown away, and rediscover things in the ones needing to be disassembled. Let’s WIP your projects into shape because when they are unfi nished, they take up room in your homes and clog up your brain.

It’s block exchange time! Don’t you just love all the different variations everyone comes up with from the same pattern? I don’t know about you, but Amy Bradley’s “Beach Bovines” quilt is the perfect pick for this year’s exchange. It’s going to be so much fun and I’m sure you’ll be “udderly” tickled. There’s just something outrageous about a dressed-up cow, wearing sunglasses. Think of all the possibilities! Come and join us before it’s too late.

Sew Whatever ChallengeTHE “MAUDIE UFO INTERVENTION”

Calling all Dave’s BERNINA friends! There is a serious problem with one of our beloved sewers, Maudie Bor-get. It’s so serious that the only solution is an interven-tion! She has collected and maybe started many, many, MANY sewing projects, but alas, because of her “busy-ness,” she has not been able to fi nish any of them. Maudie, we love you, but with so many UFO’s, you’re drowning in fabric, kits, thread and batting. She has offered herself up to fi nish four out of six projects of your choosing. If she can accomplish this task by the end of August, she will throw those that participated in the SewWhatever challenge a free opensew with pizza and treats! Please encourage and support Maudie in her efforts of recovery so we can cele-brate her victory over UFO’s. Come on Maudie, you can do it! Go to our Facebook page, Dave’s BERNINA-St. George, to pick which projects of hers that you would like to see done and comment to let her know which ones. You have till June 10 to decide!

Christmas Reversible Scalloped ApronFriday, August 2510:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.Class fee: $15Taught by Toni Hall

This apron comes in four sizes, and because of the scissor action in the back, there is lots of room to work and it stays up on your shoulders. The pattern uses two coordinating cotton fabrics. It’s reversible and heavy enough to keep stains from going through to your good clothes. All sizes are in one pattern.

Thanksgiving Pilgrims Wall HangingSize: 10½” x 12½” Friday, August 252:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.Class fee: $15Taught by Annette Houston

Thanksgiving always seems to be overlooked. We are in such a hurry to get Christmas presents made that we almost always downsize Thanksgiving. Well, take the oppor-tunity now, before the rush begins, to show your thankful side and stitch up Amy Bradley’s cute pilgrim’s wall hanging. You’ll be thankful for the #10 foot to stitch in the ditch, the #23 foot to help with the blanket stitches, the #53 foot to echo your quilting, and the #71 foot to help with binding. As always, we are thankful for you!

Opensew/Movie NightFriday, August 257 p.m. to 1 a.m.Class fee: $15Taught by Maudie Borget

Valentines Pillow Pop! Saturday, August 2610:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.Class fee: $15Taught by Shari Davis

Come join us in an early Holi-day celebration by creating an amazing Valentine’s Day pillow from the book “Pillow Pop.” The book contains 25 projects by various artists and was compiled by Heather Bostic.

Practice Safe Hex!Saturday, August 262:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.Class fee: $15Taught by Meredith Harris

Hehehe, my little pretty! Practice safe hex and come make this adorable Hal-loween wall hanging or the hex might be on you. The designer, Eat Cake Graph-ics, introduced Gertrude to her pattern world a few years ago with her rubber stamp line. After seeing this phrase, she decided that she would put Gertrude and the phrase together, and she gave her a hat, some fun shoes and a little frog companion. The spider just fell into place.

HOLIDAY MIXED NUTSWhat is your favorite holiday? Christmas usually comes to mind fi rst, but then

again, some people love all that comes with Halloween. Then there’s all that food at Thanksgiving and a BBQ and fi reworks on the 4th of July. Who can pick just one? We can’t … it’s just too hard! So, this summer, instead of just “Christmas in July,”

we’re celebrating many different holidays. We’ll have projects from the various holidays that we celebrate throughout the whole year. See which holiday project(s)

fi ts your fancy. Let’s celebrate holidays!

Iron-On T-Shirts Using Multiple ColorsFriday, July 7 (fi rst Friday)10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

How can I make an iron-on T-shirt using many colors? How do I stack the colors, or do I? What temperature should my iron be on? Do I need to put anything on top of my shirt as I iron? These and many more questions are asked by many. Come and fi nd out the answers as we create our designs and add color to our lives and on our T-shirts.

Formats of All KindsFriday, August 1110:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Let’s get the most out of our cutting machines and fi nd out what differ-ent fi le types are such as SVG, JPEG, PDF, TIFF, BMP, PNG, WMF, DXF and GSD/GST. Trick or Treat Bags Thursday, July 1310:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.Class fee: $15 Taught by Karma Ellgen

Make trick or treating fun for your kids or grandkids by mak-ing these adorable bags.

Quilting QueenWednesday, August 910:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.Class fee: $25 Taught by Meredith Harris

Come be the queen that you are and sew this very cute wall hanging from the Quilting Queen. This is a Bobbie G. Design that is even a little 3-D. I saw this in Ohio in the Amish community quilting shops and had to buy the pattern (which really doesn’t give it justice). It was so cute in person.

Mini Stitch Wall HangingFriday, August 112 p.m. to 5 p.m.Class fee: $15 Taught by Annette Houston

What is it about seeing a pattern with a sewing theme that draws us to make yet another sewing-themed project? I’ll tell you why: it’s addict-ing! We love to sew and it becomes our solitude and peace. Of course, when we see another sewing machine pattern, we need it. Well, you will surely meet your solitude and peace while sewing our “Mini Stitch” wall hanging because it basically only has two different blocks that are repeated. You’ll have it done and on the wall in no time at all.

Basic Collaging QuiltingSaturday, Sept 99:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.Class fee: $25 Taught by Durinda Biesman

You can’t have enough big prints for this pattern! I will be putting together pictures and tricks for handouts. They will be distributed at the actual class to make it easier for everyone to remember what they’ve learned. I feel that one of her patterns is a “must” and “Paisley Bear” is good starting pattern. Once you’ve learned the technique, you’ll want to get creative with draw-ing your own patterns.
