The Promise of God’s Care

• “…shall Michael stand up…”– Why?– Because of the trouble– God’s wrath– Satan’s wrath

God’s Wrath

• Revelation 6:17 “For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

• Revelation 14:19 “And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.”

• Revelation 19:15 “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”

Satan’s Wrath

• Revelation 12:12 “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

For This Trouble Michael Stands

• National Deliverance – – Zechariah 13:8 – 9 “And it shall come to pass,

that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God. “

God Cares

• At that day Israel will read the words of Daniel and receive comfort and strength knowing God cares.

• “…a nation shall be born in a day.”

The Promise of God’s Tomorrow

• Daniel 12:2 “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”

– Physical resurrection– Partial resurrection

The Promise of God’s Recognition

• Daniel 12:3 “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

What Shall be Their Future?

• “…shall shine as the brightness of the firmament.”

• Glorification

• This verse teaches degrees of glorification in heaven.

• 1 Cor. 15:40-41

The Variables of Glorification

• Be “wise” – guiding, understanding, wittingly, • They that “turn” many to righteousness

– to cause to move around a center so as to show another side of– to revolve mentally : think over : ponder

• To shine in glory is a privilege of all the saved (cf. the principle in 1 Thess. 2:12; 1 Pet. 5:10).

• Any who influence others for righteousness shine like stars in varying capacities of light as their reward (as in 1 Cor. 3:8).

• The faithfulness of the believer’s witness will determine one’s eternal capacity to reflect God’s glory.
