Theatre of Witness presents

RELEASE: A DOCUMENTARY fILM DIRECTED BY DECLAN KEENEY

Monday 9th September, 7pmAdmission free

Everyone has a past; but should they be defined by it?

The legacy of the conflict in Northern Ireland weighs heavily on many of those who experienced it, pain and loss is as relevant today as it was 30 years ago.

This film bears witness to the first hand accounts of 6 remarkable men as they each share their own story publicly through the performance of the

original Theatre of Witness production 'Release'.

Told by a former British soldier, RUC detective, prison governor, ex-prisoners and a man who survived a car bomb attack as a child, their journey is at times heartbreaking, extraordinary, breath-takingly brave but ultimately transformational.

‘Exodus Revisited’ is the funny and warm story of four friends from both sides of the community during the Exodus of the Protestant community in the city to the West Bank in the 1980’s.

This community drama is written by local play-wright Madeline McCully, author of ‘The Creggan Story’, and revisits the much discussed topic of the ‘Exodus’ from a cross-community perspective.

Whilst giving recognition to the trauma behind the exodus of people from both ‘sides’ of the City during the troubles, this drama chooses not to dwell on the troubles but actually highlight how the community has moved forward.

Dyad Productions present

THE UNREMARKABLE DEATH Of MARILYN MONROEThursday 6th February 2014, 8pmTickets: £11/ £9

Monroe as we’ve never seen her before: alone in her bedroom, in dressing gown and slippers; no glitz, no glamour, no masks. Overdosed on pills, the woman behind the icon unravels her remarkable life and bares all, revealing a biting intelligence, a frustrated talent and an imperfect body. This stark confes-sional (DiMaggio, Gable, Miller, Hyde, her mother – it’s all here) offers a radical interpretation of this Hollywood legend and leads us, in real time, to the very moment of her death. From Dyad Productions (Austen’s Women, I, Elizabeth, The Diaries of Adam and Eve, Female Gothic).

Play On Words Theatre in association with European Arts Company Presents
