My Three Proposals

Narrative

First Idea

The first idea consists of mainly closeups and big close ups of the band. It also have some long shots and establishing shots.The idea consists of the band telling the story about the world they want to save. This is to show the audience how caring they are. The story is about poeple seeing these masterious poeple in maskes, who are wanting to create a greener world. You see them doing 'green acts' such as turning of a light or putting rubbish in the right bin. This key point to this idea is to show how mysterious they are as a band. This adds to the 'cool' factor which appeals to the consumors.The main point is to have lots of close ups which is what the band wants in the video.

I have looked at locations for this idea and thought of parks in my local town. There are three parks which will show urban life for the consumer to relate to.

Second narrative

Again the second idea is to show how 'cool' and mysterious the band is. This would be done by the establishing shots and close ups which the band are wnating within the video.The symbols will be used- this is the eyes of the snake creature. We could make this a fun video with a made ufo of a small size. This would be made by me and again this is to show there many sides such as funny, fun, cool and mysterious. The narritive is about an alien life form- the band- entering the earth. they enter and look around. This includes the close ups which would be done behind a purple background. This is to show the si-fi part of the video.

There would be a apearance of the work 'silk' to remind the consumer that this song is called silk. this would also influence the meaning of the song- as it is not literally about silk, it is about the world being like soft as silk- sandy beaches for example.

Third idea

The third idea is to simply about one loaction- this is about show casing such as the environment but it is not like the other two ideas where is narritve takes half of the music video.We can use one simple background and two lights which is influenced by the director that I have looked at.This is to disconnect the audience from the band to create the mystrious viel over them. The band wants to have close ups of them- such as medium and big close ups showing the symbol and ideas they want to put across to the audience.

The final idea

After talking to the band I am able to finish this idea presentation. We have choosen to conbine multiple ideas because some of the aspects of each idea have their perks and problems. The alien idea will be used to create a narrative and adding meaning to the song. The word silk would be written over the pre-made ufo. The background and close ups will be done to create an iconic image for the audience- this will be cool, fun, myterious and interesting. The environment ideas will be done in a show cased way to create a little disconnection between the band and the audience.

The next part of this process is to create log rushes of test footage of the areas that I will be useing. I am going to experiement to create the affects that the band is after.
