White Castle Vineyard is owned by Robb & Nicola Merchant, situated in the beautiful rolling country-
side of Monmouthshire in the village of Llanvetherine close to the town of Abergavenny. The family
run 5 acre vineyard is planted on a gentle south facing slope that is ideal for growing vines and ripen-
ing grapes for Welsh wine. Having been Nicola’s dream for many years that dream became a reality in
2009 when the first 4,000 vines were planted a further planting of 850 vines followed in 2010.
Robb & Nicola are very passionate about growing grapes and believe that quality wine making starts
in the vineyard, they carefully selected varieties that will grow well in their soil and the micro climate
of the vineyard.
In just 3 years of sales White castle Vineyard are very pleased to have received awards for their
wines. The pinnacle to date being their Gwin Gwyn wine served at the Foreign & Commonwealth
Office in the Locarno suite to showcase Welsh Business, Education and Tourism. Attendees included
The Rt Hon Carwyn Jones AM First Minister & The Rt Hon Stephen Crabb MP Secretary of State for
Wales.
What White Castle Vineyard will bring to the Three Wine Men…
We are very excited to be involved with the Three Wine Men this year, bringing four of our wines to
present to guests. Gwin gwyn a blend of Phoenix & Seyval Blanc with floral aromas. Rosé is a light
and refreshing blend of Pinot Noir, Rondo and Siegerrebe. The Sparkling Rosé 2012 an elegant and
attractive wine made from the Regent grape variety giving a pale and delicate Rosé. Regent Red has
rich dark cherry aromas complimented by the subtle aging in oak.
We are looking forward to introducing ourselves making new friends with the aid of the Three Wine
