What is extended housing? Please remember that an extended housing triple is not a permanent assignment. Housing Assignment Ser-vices (HAS) will provide permanent assignments to all students in triples who wish to move by the beginning of the spring semester. To make your transition easier, HAS will work closely with Residence Life staff to nd open rooms in your current building -- this way you will already be familiar with the other students in your building when you move.

If you would like to move to a space in a different residence hall, please contact HAS by completing the form at www.udel.edu/has/contact.html to discuss options.

Extended Furniture Removal

Rebate InformationYour extended housing rebate will be listed on your student account. Beginning October 1, each student in extended housing will receive a 15 percent rebate on housing costs for each full week of residence until a permanent space is offered. Rebates are offered only during the fall semester, as sufficient spaces are available for spring semester to accomodate students in extended housing. If a permanent space be-comes available but students decide to remain in the extended housing room, the rebate will be discon-tinued for the remainder of the year.

If you are in an extended housing triple and the third person has moved out, please complete the Ex-tended Housing Furniture Removal Request form available on the Facilities website at www.facilities.udel.edu. Please be aware that extended housing furniture will be removed only if your Housing Assignment Services Room Change forms have been processed.

Be sure that you keep all of the standard University furniture in your room -- only extended housing furniture will be removed. You may not switch or trade furniture pieces. Extended housing furniture includes the metal bed, extra mattress, and extended housing desk and desk chair.

Extended housing furniture will be picked up once a week between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. -- you do not need to be in your room during the furniture removal time. After receiving your request, Facilities will schedule an appointment for pick-up and will notify you via the e-mail address included on the Furniture Removal Request form. If there is a problem with this process, Housing Assignment Services will contact you.
