Thriller Poster Analysis

Page 2: Thriller poster analysis

The moon, with a picture of some sort of creature that looks like a wolf, suggests that at night the man turns into someone completely different.

This is a typical thriller location, this is because it is during the night when everyone is asleep. This connotes that during the day it is a happy place to be but it all changes at night. The shovel and his arm are full of blood, this is typical of thriller as it suggests that his weapon is a shovel, a weapon that we wouldn’t mostly associate with gardening. The dog could

suggest that this is his partner in crime, the dog could connote that he helps him smell out his targets and helps him find them.

He is portrayed as a typical thriller character, this is because he is a man and men are typical in thriller movies to be the main character, he is a leader.

The title connotes that what he does is a phase, it is not a normal thing he does, and that he does it late at night.

• The blood is significant, it is a sign of death which is typical of thriller as it connotes that people die. The blood is on the shovel which connotes that this is his weapon, reason being is because it is not a usual weapon someone would use maybe he uses a shovel to disguise the fact he is a serial killer. He wants to pretend he uses it for his garden when really he uses it to kill people.

• The blood is also on his arm and shirt connotes that he gets rather close to his victims, he possibly even tries to get rid of their body. This is typical of thriller genre because many serial killers get rid of all the evidence they can so they don’t get caught but somehow even then after trying so hard to hide what they do they will always get caught in the end by someone who we least expect.
