WHAT IS THE ALMA HUNT OFFERING FOR VIRGINIA MISSIONS?The annual offering for Virginia missions was named for Alma Hunt (1909-2008), a native Virginian who was known worldwide for her missions service and her unswerving dedication to the cause of Christ. Churches and individuals may contribute at any time. The offering provides funding for all WMUV missions and ministries and makes possible other special ministries, outreach projects, and initiatives not funded through regular streams of giving (but uniquely connected to Virginia Baptists).

Since 1976, this offering has been a joint venture of WMUV and the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV). The annual goal and allocation of funds are directed by a committee composed of equal representation from the WMUV Board of Trustees and the BGAV Executive Board.

The stories you will read in this prayer guide are of real people in real ministries who receive some financial support from this offering. Every dollar you give goes directly to support these and many other ministries.

When you make an offering to the Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions, you are being obedient to God’s call to give and to serve. Working together with other Virginia Baptists, you are living in God’s presence and enabling others to experience the transformational life changes that come only through experiencing God’s presence.
