3.) Pull down on the sleeve or arm on the same side as the foot your are sweeping.

 

Sukui Nage

 

1.) Begin the throw by moving your knee deeply behind your opponents two knees, while both of you

are facing in the same direction.

 

2.) Place both hands in front of your opponent on his knees and grab the pants whenever possible.  If 

not possible, then scoop your hands behind the knee joints on the outside of both knees.

 

3.) Lift upwards and backwards over the leg which you extended behind his in the first movement

above. 

 

O Goshi

 

1.) Control the wrist and pull the opponents arm towards you and upwards.

 

2.) Encircle your arm (depending on height) either around the waist or around the head (the waist willgive more lift.

 

3.) Turn your hips in, with your feet making the head point of a triangle, with their two feet as the base

points.

 

4.) Bend your Knees and pop out your hips.

 

5.) Turn your head as you throw, looking upwards, and drive your opponent into the ground.

 

Ippon Seionage

 1.) Control the wrist and pull the opponents arm towards you and upwards.

 

2.) As you turn your hips in, bring your other arm upwards and make it rigid, trapping the opponents

arm between your bicep and your forearm.

 

3.) Turn your hips in so that they go around 1-2 inches past your opponents hip, too far or too shallow is

not good.

 

4.) Plant your feet as deeply between their feet as possible, with your feet making the head point of a

triangle, with their two feet as the base points.

 

5.)  As you turn in, bend your knees and pop out your hips, to bring them around your hip.

 

6.) Turn your head as you throw , looking upwards, and drive your opponent into the ground.

 

Harai Goshi

 

1.) Encircle an arm (depending on height) either around the waist or around the head (the head is a

power Harai Goshi, and usually how the throw is accomplished)

3.) As you throw, bend over, and kick your trailing leg down, sweeping your opponent’s leg.
