Geometry will begin their unit on prisms, looking at nets and formulating surface area and volume.
Algebra 2 will begin their unit on Logarithms, which will allow us to solve for compound interest problems
and half-life decay.

ALGEBRA I/ADVANCED GEOMETRY

Algebra -- We will finish our unit on Exponential Functions and have our first Test on Wednesday. Then we
will start working with adding and subtracting Polynomials. Our Algebra STAAR EOC Benchmark will be the
following week.
Advanced Geometry -- We will finish out work on finding Volume of solids on Monday and have a Quiz on Tues-
day (that will be a major grade). Then we will work on finding the Surface Area of solids.

Calculus: Integration of natural log and exponential functions; trapezoidal rule; test # 9 starts on Friday with
part 2 on Monday, March 6.
PreCalculus: Working on trig equations in degrees and radians with test over unit # 2 on Friday.

Advanced Biology will be learning about binomial nomenclature and the scientific system of classification.
Chemistry will finish excess and limiting and will take a test Thursday. They will then begin an excess/limiting project
lab.
Human Anatomy will spend the week evaluating the information in the video "Forks Over Knives" and how food affects
the digestive system. They will have a test over the digestive system on Friday.

nights of the week with quizzes to follow. We will also practice comprehension of poetry and informational
texts.
10th advanced: Students will take a comprehensive written exam over 1984. They will then continue to re-
fine grammar and comprehension skills the remainder of the week.
12th English: Students will participate in a Socratic Seminar over the first 10 chapters of The Kite Runner.
We will continue reading the book as well as supplemental readings (poetry and non-fiction).
