How do storms happen?

Storms happen by warm air rising and cold air sinking. This is called convection.

It has an important role in thunderstorms.

Types:

Orographic storms

The storm is made by air forced up by mountains or hillsides.

Air mass storms

Air mass storms are made by convection in an unstable air mass

Frontal storms

This storm happens along the boundaries of weather fronts.

Rain!!!!!

The air cools as it rises. Water vapor condenses and form camulus clouds! Heat is released and helps the storm grow, at some point high in the clouds there are water droplets and fall to the ground as rain!
