Term 4 Week 2
Thursday 15 October 2015
Principal’s Report
Dear parents/caregivers,
Welcome back to Term 4, I hope you had an enjoyable break from the routine of school. Already the calendar
is quickly filling up with many important dates and events. Term 4 is an extremely busy and exciting term.
Please keep an eye on the “What’s on at Wangi Wangi Public School” section.
NAPLAN
NAPLAN results were sent home to Year 3 and Year 5 parents late last term. We will hold a parent meeting on
Tuesday, 20th October at 2.15pm in the School Library to outline the NAPLAN results, Mr McSweeny and
Mrs Murphy have completed a deep analysis of our Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN results. A note was sent home
earlier this week.
Grandparents Day
This was such a success last year and we hope to make it even bigger and better this year. Invitations have
already been sent home. The date for your diary is Wednesday, 28th
October at 1.00pm. Afternoon tea will be
available at the conclusion of the event. Please put this on your calendar!
Staff Development Day Term 4
Staff will be completing professional learning for the next three Wednesday afternoons after school,
finishing at 6.00pm. In accordance with School development Days procedures, we have rescheduled six hours
of professional learning which allows for a variation on routine for the last day of Term 4. The school will be
open on last day of Term 4, Friday, 11th
December, however minimal staff will be in attendance. Students’
last day will be Wednesday, 16th
December and staff will finish on Thursday, 17th
December, 2015.
Wangi Wangi Sustainable Garden
Working closely with the Wangi Wangi Sustainable Garden group our school has been chosen as the most
viable area in Wangi Wangi to have a community garden. Working closely with Mr Rod Haines and Ms Alli
Murray, this project is evolving. A site plan has been developed and work has already commenced, the
project is ongoing and if you would like to lend a helping hand please speak to Ms Murray. We can’t wait to
see the finished product. Our garden has already provided tasting days for the students with the fresh
produce that has been grown during Term 3. We also hope that the Wangi community will again support this
great project!

Yr 1/2 Aston Walsh
Yr 3/4 Cameron Wheeler
Yr 5/6 Jake Harrison
Yr 1/2 Our class began Term 4 working on resilience through the
integration of Personal Development through the wonderful
books that we read in English. Books that inspired our writing
over the past two weeks have been Mike, I don’t like it! and
Noah Dreary. The students made many connections with these
books and we shared our writing for Noah Dreary at Friday’s
assembly last week.
The writing was lots of fun!
1/2 are wonderful writers who use an amazing vocabulary when
writing.
I’m so proud of their achievements.
Mrs Langford
I don’t like dads and mums they’re bossy and busy when you
ask them something.
I don’t like zebras because they’re too stripey. Liam S
I don’t like noises they’re loud and give me headaches.
I don’t like mums they’re bossy and a bit annoying.
I don’t like little sisters they’re annoying and rip your homework
apart. Jayden M
I prefer the complaining Noah because he complained about
everything you could think of.
Of course he complains about his sister crying. Who doesn’t?
He even complains about clouds. All he does is COMPLAIN!
What if he doesn’t know how he’s complaining is a bit too much
for everyone? I guess he will never know. At least he isn’t
doomed or is he. He just complains. He will learn. Ella B
I prefer great Noah because he’s helpful and kind and grateful
to do good things. He says lovely things so he is thought to be
good and not whinging. P.S He loves his family.
He isn’t angry or mad or bad, he’s just good. Aston
I prefer the complaining Noah because he’s funny and the most
complaining person in the world. He complains at school, home
and even at strangers. Noah is complaining everywhere! I bet
he does this at the shops! How strange is that? Shamara
I prefer the changed attitude Noah because he complains about
serious situations like saving the planet from pollution. Noah is
famous for alliterations about things we should do for the
environment. Noah is extremely famous.
Noah used to be selfish with a complaining attitude. When
Noah fell into the aquarium and some fisherman saved him.
Then he said “I’m the luckiest boy in the world!” Noah is now
extremely happy.
