Welcome back to term 2. I hope all families enjoyed a happy and safe holiday break period. It is great to see all students, families and staff back for what is set to be an extremely busy term.
The students have settled back into their routines well and are all participating in engaging learning experiences to an exceptional level. I have enjoyed visiting the classrooms this week and talking to students about their holiday experiences. ATTENDANCE As we start a new term, it is also timely to remind students about the importance of attendance at school. This is one of the most important things you can do to unsure your child’s success at school in the future.
Well Done to all the students on their fantastic attendance, especially 1/2B for winning the attendance award for Term 1. ANZAC DAY A reminder to all families that next Tuesday 25th of April is a Public Holiday, therefore no students are required at school on this day. BRAVEHEART’S PROGRAM: Ditto’s Keep Safe Education Program This program has been part of our education for the past few years.
Braveheart’s mission is to empower children with skills and knowledge on how to keep safe. Specifically, it deals with teaching students basic principles to do with their own personal safety, and how to keep their bodies safe from harm from others.
Parents are welcome to attend the show with their child and there will also be a parent information session following the show.
The show will take place on Wednesday 3rd of May at 11.30am-12.05pm in the Performing Arts building.

any time you can offer would be valued and

Grade 5/6’s
Students this week explored
the art of Australian artist
Sidney Nolan. We looked at
his war themed art and how
the loss of his younger
brother who died in WWII
deeply influenced why he
made art.
Students made their own
connection by sketching
portraits of Australian
soldiers. This work will be
displayed at the Anzac
ceremony on Monday 24th
April in the Jeff Walker
Hall.
Grade 3/4’s This week students
finished their 'Urban
Landscapes'
influenced by the art of
Australian artist Howard
Arkley.
The technique is oil
pastel etching and the
focus was on line and
pattern.
