The Live View of Distributed Application HealthSystem Center Operations Manager provides a view of the health of an organization’s IT services and infrastructure in a single console. It monitors thousands of events and service metrics across the IT environment and correlates them to distrib-uted application models. It is a prerequisite when upgrading your IT It is a prerequisite when extending from basic infrastructure monitoring to service monitoring.
In order to monitor a service effectively, System Center Operations Manager needs to know the infrastructure components that make up that service. For a simple service, Distributed Application Designer is used to build and update these models. However this method does not scale to large, complex or rapidly changing services. When changes occur in the infrastructure, distributed application models need to reflect these changes in order to show application health correctly.
Tideway Foundation simplifies the process of creating Operations Manager application models by only requiring the characteristics of an application to be described. Foundation then spots applications with those characteristics, correlates all the infrastructure components, and automatically creates the appropriate management packs.
The combination of Tideway Foundation and Operations Manager provides peace of mind that critical applications are being monitored correctly, while removing the manual time and effort of maintaining distributed application models.
