This Week's Torah Portion in a Nutshell: K'doshimLeviticus Triennial Reading: (1) 19:23-25 pg. 698-699(2) 19:26-28 pg. 699(3) 19:29-32 pg. 699-700(4) 19:33-37 pg. 700(5) 20:1-7 pg. 701(6) 20:8-22 pg. 702-703(7) 20:23-27 pg. 703-704Maftir: 20:25-27 pg. 704

From "Torah Sparks"One of the Torah’s seminal chapters, Leviticus 19 exhorts the Israelites to be holy because God is holy. Holiness is achieved, in part, by honoring our parents, protecting our children, rejecting idolatry, giving to the poor, offering sacrifices sincerely, and dealing with strangers and neighbors with decency and fairness.

The second part of the parasha, Leviticus 20, returns to some of the same themes, focusing heavily on sexual ethics found in Leviticus 18 and avoiding idolatry.
