Technical  Information  for  Tiger  and  Tiger  Tale      TIGER  and  TIGER  TALE  (7+  to  adults)  are  essentially  the  same  show,  Tiger  told  through  the  eyes  of  the  parents  and  Tiger  Tale  told  through  the  eyes  of  the  daughter.    The  technical  set  up  is  exactly  the  same  for  both  shows.    TIGER  TALE  runs  approx.:  56  minutes  TIGER  runs  approx.:  6  6  minutes    A  pre-‐rig  and  get  in  the  day  before  is  required.    SET  When  touring  outside  of  Europe  we  recommend  that  the  set  is  built  by  the  host  venue  rather  than  freighting    the  set.    Tiger  and  Tiger  Tale  bring  the  following  Scenic  elements,  all  of  which  travel  with  Barrowland  Ballet:

• Cage  set  which  is  exactly  7  meters  by  7  meters  wide,  by  3.5  meters  high.    It  is  primarily  a  large  scaffold  cage  that  sits  on  half-‐meter  wide  ply  boards,  the  set  is  not  flexible  and  requires  7m  by  7m  wide  space.

• The  set  is  covered  in  taught  string.  • 23  galvanised  buckets  hanging  from  the  set,  3  additional  galvanised  buckets    • 3  chairs

 WE  REQUIRE  FROM  THE  VENUE:

• Performance  area  of  8m  x  8m  • Black  dance  floor,  pre-‐laid  minimum  covering  7m  x  7m  (the  set  will  be  placed  in  top

of  this)  • Props  table  x  2  (location  to  be  agreed  on  arrival)  • Two  black  drapes  to  cover  equipment

 SEATING:

• Both  Tiger  and  Tiger  Tale  are  performed  in  the  round  • Seating  to  be  set  a  minimum  of  0.5  mtrs  from  the  edge  of  the  8  x  8  mtrs

performance  area.

• Seating  must  be  raked  for  every  row,  if  there  are  two  rows  of  seating  the  second  row  must  be  raised.

• For  Tiger  Tale  there  can  be  cushions/mats,  then  benches  then  chairs  depending  on  the  capacity  for  rows.    Each  single  row  around  the  four  sides  of  the  set  seats  approximately  48  to  55  seats,  depending  on  chair  size.

• For  Tiger  benches  first,  then  chairs  can  be  used.  • Raked  banks  of  seats  work  well  if  this  is  an  option.  • The  audience  will  not  see  the  dancers  if  the  seating  is  not  raised  as  there  is  floor

work  throughout  the  performance.  • Each  corner  of  the  set  there  should  be  a  corridor  for  members  of  the  public  to  enter

and  exit  between  the  seating.      Health  and  Safety

• Matches  –  at  the  beginning  of  the  show  the  daughter  strikes  one  match  before  putting  it  out  in  a  metal  bucket.  The  metal  bucket  has  a  wet  sponge  at  the  bottom  to  ensure  the  match  stays  out.

• Oil  Burners  –  two  oil  burners  are  used  intermittently  throughout  the  show  to  create  an  orange  smell.  They  are  constantly  manned  by  our  Stage  Manager.

We  have  a  musician/operator   (Kim  Moore)  who  requires  a  small   table   for  her  equipment  she  will  be  seated  in  the  front  row.  If  you  look  at  the  set  from  the  FOH  position  she  will  be  placed  Stage  Left,  downstage  corner.  Please  take  this   into  consideration  for   fire  exits  and  seating.    LIGHTING      WE  REQUIRE  FROM  THE  VENUE:    The  Lighting  should  be  pre  rigged.

• Due  to  the  size  of  the  set  the  Lighting  pre  rig  is  advised.  The  set  is  a  cube,  7x7  meters  wide  &  3.5  meters  high.

• A  rough  focus  could  be  done  on  the  proposed  playing  area  by  finding  the  center  of  the  playing  area  and  marking  out  3.5  meters  in  each  direction  to  establish  the  edge  of  the  set.

• The  grid  should  be  approximately  3  meters  minimum  from  the  top  of  the  set  and  the  4  boom  poles  set  4  meters  away  from  the  outer  edge  of  the  set  on  two  sides  only.

• All  lighting  gel  to  be  supplied  by  the  Barrowland  Ballet  or  replaced  if  venue  has  gel  in  stock

Detailed  lighting  design  plans  and  focus  notes  will  be  sent  on  request:  • We  are  bringing  the  show  files  on  a  USB  stick.  It  was  programmed  on  a  ETC  ION  • There  are  two  designs  (A-‐  Large,  B-‐Medium)  we  insist  on  the  A  –  Rig  wherever

possible  • The  design  is  primarily  washes  with  two  special  and  4  boom  poles.    A  light  will  be

required  for  Kim  Moore  the  musician  who  sits  Down  Stage  Left.
