IT’S STILL ALL ABOUT JESUSIT’S STILL ALL ABOUT JESUSIT’S STILL ALL ABOUT JESUSIT’S STILL ALL ABOUT JESUS

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

The Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony is tonight. One of my favorite parts is the lighting of the Olympic flame. The flame is passed from torchbearer to torchbearer

until it arrives at the stadium. The small flame then is used to light the huge Olympic Flame. When I think of the torchbearer relay, I remember how my parents,

grandparents and many others carried the light of Christ and, through the power of the Holy Spirit, passed the light of Christ to me. It is a privilege to be part of St.

Peter’s Lutheran School where the light of Christ is shared daily. It is a honor to be part of your family’s “torchbearer relay” in sharing the love of Christ.

ST. PETER’S *** IS WISCONSIN SCHOOL CHOICE This program is a state-wide program that allows families to apply for state aid that will cover your tuition cost of attending St. Peter’s School. Currently this program is available for the 2018-2019 school year for St. Peter’s students entering PRE-K 4, Kindergarten and 1st grade, or students that are new to St. Peter’s in PRE-K 4 - 8th grade. Applications maybe found online at http://dpi.wi.gov/sms/choice-programs/student-applications. Applications are being accepted February 1st - April 20th, 2018. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions of the Board of Christian Education on Monday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the 8th grade classroom. We prefer you contact the office if you plan to attend, but you can also just show up if you prefer. If you have any question, or would like some assistance in the application process, please stop by the office. We will be happy to help.

PART-TIME/SUBSTITUTE OPENING IN ST. PETER'S DAYCARE If you love kids, this may be the position for you. Mostly after-school care. Must be 16 years of age. For more information, please stop in the daycare or call Julie Thompson at 524-4066, Ext. 3.

Registration information for the 2018 – 2019 school year has been mailed out to all families!! Make note of the new form and please be sure to complete BOTH SIDES of the form.

Each Friday, from 1:00 – 3:00, I stuff bulletins outside the office at school and frequently students pass by and so many of them stop to say hello or give me a hug – remembering the years I volunteered in Kindergarten. It is so heartwarming and I leave with a warm feeling for this example and how God’s light is shining at St. Peter’s! Thank you! A 1st grader was alone and sad at recess. Two other students stopped their play to go sit by him and make sure he was ok.

C02 CAR RACES ARE GETTING READY TO TAKE-OFF!! The 8th graders are designing their cars and getting them ready to compete in the C02 Races scheduled for Monday, March 5th. Mark your calendars and plan to join the crowd as they cheer on the race teams!!

The B-team girls’ basketball team has been off to a ROARING start! They are currently 3-1 in league play with the one loss being a close game to our neighbors, the Sacred Heart Crusaders. The team has had to deal with much adversity this season in the way of sickness with only having the full squad at one of the four games thus far. The most previous victory came at St. Joe's, Baraboo where the team only

had 5 girls on hand to play. The first half found them down by 15 points, but they came ROARING back in the second half off of a spectacular defensive performance by the whole team as well as great teamwork on offense to win the game. The team also survived a ROARING crowd and a tough team at St. Patrick's, Mauston to win 28-18. The team will be playing away for the next three games, but will be back on their home court for their final 3 games of the season. Hope to see you there ROARING for the team in the stands!
