Style Guide for Tutorials

Tutorial Outline

Objectives: At the completion of the tutorial modules the practicing nurse will:  1. Understand what is informatics and why technology and informatics are important to

2. Understand the source for multiple healthcare information technology standards that are necessary for collecting, re-using and exchanging data and information among multiple health care professionals. (Standards) - Ginny M.

3. Understand the benefits of interoperability of patient data, information and knowledge for patient safety and quality. (Interoperability) - Angela L. 

4. Able to document coded nursing concepts and values using the international reference information model which facilitates the organized collection, association, storage and exchange of patient information. (Data use) - Cyndie L.

Tutorial Developers

Should take advantage of using all the drawing tools such as auto shapes, color, arrows, circles, low kb file photos, screen prints, etc. to bring attention and life to “standards” or “Interoperability” as areas of importance.

Should include slide transition and several text and content layouts to offer variation in slides to hold interest.

Should include slide notes as the conversational script for the slide.

Should limit to a 50 minute presentation (note some slides are 5 minutes and others may be 10 seconds).

Should add references at the end contact information.
