The Rum DealAfter discovering the Caribbean Islands in 1492, Christopher Columbus brought sugarcane seedlings to trade for other merchandise, in what he believed to be his destination of India.

He never made it to India, so instead the sugarcane was planted in Central America.

Hundreds of years later people started to distil the by-product of sugar, Molasses. Rum became the drink of choice mariners, who brought the forbidden drink backto their home countries.
