Paul Brandt currently resides just outside of Cochrane, Alberta in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with his wife Elizabeth, and their two children Joseph and Lily. They are active members of their community, and enjoy being involved in causes that change people’s lives for the better.

Recognizing and promoting the value of human life is a passion for the Brandt family, and that vision is inspired by their belief that God values people so much that He sent His son Jesus to die for all mankind, to show us how much we are worth to Him (John 3:16).

The Brandts enjoy hiking, fishing, caring for their pets and most outdoor pursuits.

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past – Isaiah 43:18

Choices. Life gives us a lot of choices, and seemingly, not enough time. Forever definitely isn’t waiting. As I was writing for this project, I was struck with an urgency to forget about the past, and not worry about tomorrow.

I’ve heard the words; “do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself” (Matthew 6:34), and “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past” (Isaiah 43:18). The idea that ‘now’, this moment, is what the future consists of, has been on my mind a lot lately. With every performance, every decision, every hand I hold, whether it’s the handshake of an old friend, or having my finger grasped by the tiny fingers of my newborn child, I’ve been finding myself more lost in ‘immediate moments’ then ever before.

I‘ve realized I’ve spent a lot of time trying to plan the ‘perfect someday’. I don’t want to do that anymore. This book dives into some of the story of the past, some of the things I’ve learned, and some of the dreams I have, but more than anything, it’s about what I’m doing with now… I hope you’ll share this moment with me.

I started my journey in music at the age of six at the West Hillhurst Gospel Hall, a small church of around 75 people at that time. ‘A cappella’ music was the order of the day, no instruments were played in that church. I hope that you hear the passion and love that I have for those great old Hymns that I learned there in the gGospel songs recorded on “Just As I Am”, due out in 2012. I loved belting out those great old tunes of Faith, Hope and Love back then, and that love has only grown deeper.

At the age of 13, I took a general music course in school at Sir John A. MacDonald Junior High. Mr. Trevor Waters lovingly shared the joy he received from music with that small class, and I still remember the look of pride on my mother’s face when I played the first song I’d ever learned, Ian Tyson’s “Four Strong Winds” on that old classical “loaner” guitar I had carried home from school that day. It wasn’t long after that she signed me up for lessons and I took the first recordable steps towards songwriting. Little did I know that one day I’d share the stage with Mr. Tyson himself.

My love for words grew from a seed planted by traveling preachers who would speak at that old church. Their explanations of The King James Bible grew into the seedlings of poetry, and then to fullTfledged songs as I combined my new ability to ‘chord and pick’ with the thoughts I was putting to rhyme on paper. Honestly, I never dreamed that this would turn into a career… I didn’t even realize that you could do this for a career! We didn’t listen to the radio, and had a very small repertoire of Christian musicians we listened to on recordings, but right from the beginning, I loved to sing. I have always maintained with anyone who’s asked, “How do you make it in the music business?”, that the best thing to do, is do it ‘cause you

BY PAUL BRANDT...................................................................................................

...................................................................................................

Isn’t that how all amazing stories start? Let me tell you, I’m the most surprised that all of this has turned out this way…

love it. That’s what I did, and I’ve been extremely blessed. I’m so thankful for the opportunity and privilege to be invited into your homes, your cars, your iPods, and your hearts with my music.

Discovered through a series of talent contests, including one at the world famous Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, it’s incredible to me that I ever received that first phone call from Warner/Reprise Records in Nashville, Tennessee, let alone that I still get to do this so many years later. I’d say it’s a dream come true, but it’s more like simply living inside of a dream, because when you’re dreaming, you have no preconceived notions of how it’s all going to turn out, no idea about what’s around the next corner. It’s true, it took a lot of faith to get here, but I’ve just been living inside a story that was created for me a long time ago. The experience all reminds me of a bible verse that speaks about destiny. It says: “For I know the plansI have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not toharm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

I think it’s pretty cool to think that all of this was planned. It’s good to live in the moment… and my life has been a series of unbelievable moments, all strung together. One of my favourite moments was performing in front of my High School graduating class at Crescent Heights High School. I had been singing at fashion shows, in Jazz choirs and ensembles, all under the tutelage of Brian Farrell, and for whatever reason, when I did, girls would give me the time of day. I thought it was a bit of a risk for a basketballTplaying ‘jock’ to get up in front of anybody and admit that I was a ‘singer’, but it turned out that I always enjoyed the enthusiasm and support of my peers in these endeavours. I was singing “Amazing Grace” in the inset picture with me wearing the graduation gown… nice hair Elvis…

Once upon a time...

I really think it took everyone by surprise

Until that time, I had been doing Garth Brooks impressions, covering “Friends In Low Places” and “The Dance”. One judge at a contest I performed at in Memphis, Tennessee asked me if I happened to write my own music. I told him I did, and he encouraged me to start performing my original tunes, to share my own ‘voice’ with the rest of the world. That was great advice. I wish I had written down his name so I could say thanks!

Kim Cooke and Randy Stark of Warner Music Canada were the first to reach out to me from ‘the big leagues’. I had been entering talent contests and winning, and it was at the National Finals of a talent search where they saw me perform for the first time. I flew out to Toronto where I met them, and told them that I wanted to take a crack at Nashville. I had put contest winnings, and my earnings from work as an RN at the Alberta Children’s Hospital towards recording my originally written material. They sent a copy of that music to Paige Levy, VP of Artists & Repertoire at Warner/Reprise Nashville. “Calm Before The Storm” was one of those songs. Check it out on the “Then” CD in the back cover V that’s the original recording, recorded at Sundae

when the record companies started calling…

Sound Studios in Calgary, AB, Canada, with Cindy Church on background vocals. Paige, who signed one of my favourites, Dwight Yoakam, to Reprise, eventually phoned my parent’s house where I was living and left a message. She said something like:

“Hey Paul, I really like the music you’ve been recording, and I’m wondering if I could come up to Canada and hear you and your band...”

My dad was sitting on the couch at home when I returned from work that day, and was the first to point out that there was a message on the machine. I called her back and said, “Sure, come on up.” Then I phoned a friend named Neil MacGonigill, who was managing singer/songwriter Jann Arden at the time, and asked if he could help me put a band together! I had a lot of experience playing for family and friends, but had actually never had a band.

We showcased at the Longhorn Saloon in Calgary, Alberta, and within a week, I had signed an initial deal with Warner Brothers Nashville. It just doesn’t happen like that... and nobody could have guessed what would happen next…

CALM BEFORE THE STORM V Contests and Record Deals[ ]

“Calm Before The Storm” reached #102 on the Billboard Top 200 (US), and spent 52 weeks on the Billboard Country Chart where it peaked at #14.

In Canada, the first single, “My Heart Has A History” was a #1 hit, as was the album. Three other singles were Canadian #1 hits (“I Do”, “I Meant To

Do That”, and “Take It From Me”). “My Heart Has A History” was the first single by a male Canadian Country Artist to hit the US Top 10 charts since

Hank Snow in 1974.

“You can hit that note?”A debut that included a top 5 hit with “My Heart Has A History” and then a number one single with “I Do” wasn’t really on anyone’s radar. “I Do” had been written for a friend that I worked with at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, and then, after the day I performed it for her, it had been stored in a pile of my songs, in a folder, in my basement.

While we were searching for songs for a potential first album, Paige asked if I had any songs that I’d written that I hadn’t played for her yet. I dug through that folder of coffee stained, scribbledGon sheets of paper, and said, “Well, what do you think about this one?”, and I played the song. She liked it. That song, which I had written as a wedding gift, and then forgotten, went on to be one of the most recognized and widely used wedding anthems in history.

CoGwritten by Mark D. Sanders (“Heads Carolina, Tails California”, “I Hope You Dance”, “Blue Clear Sky”), “My Heart Has A History” was my first single released in the States to country radio, and was the first song by a male Canadian country artist to hit the US charts since Hank Snow. The confession of a guy who just can’t seem to get love right, it’s a playful challenge, almost daring the girl to take a chance, because “my heart keeps tryin’ to turn and run”.

Mark and I were scheduled to write together at Reba’s old Starstruck Entertainment offices down by the Nashville Fairgrounds, just on the other side of the tracks. Mark and I had worked on the song for a bit, when we came to the line, “I knew this moment would arrive…”

I went down to the low E on the word “arrive”, and asked him what he thought.

He said, “You can hit that note??”

One of my favourite memories of that writing session was when Mark left the room to make a phone call. It sounded like someone in the room next door was blaring the radio. It sounded good, but was a bit distracting… and I was just about to knock on the wall to ask them to keep it down. I’m glad I didn’t. I listened a little more closely to realize it was actually Reba, and she was rehearsing in the room right next to me.

I’m sure she would have been gracious, but I doubt she would have appreciated me telling her to “be quiet” in a building that she owned.

It was a lot of fun reGvisiting both of these songs that have meant so much to me and my career by reGrecording them to include them in this project. While there’s something special about the original recordings, I think that my growth as an artist can be seen in a unique way by listening to both versions, new and old, side by side. Whichever version you like better, thanks for being along for the ride all these years!

“I Do” was written ‘last%minute’ for a friend of Paul’s who worked at the Alberta Children’s Hospital with him. She’d asked him to sing at her wedding,

but she let Paul choose the song. He didn’t write the song until the day before. Once inspired by the idea, the song took 15 minutes to write. After

signing with Reprise, the song had been all but forgotten, but fortunately was uncovered as the search for material for the first album progressed.

Had it not been for it’s ‘re%discovery’, “I Do” may have never become a #1 hit.

our dreams, we calculated the risks, and we decided that we both wanted a change.

It was around that same time that the label literally started asking me questions that I didn’t particularly like the tone of. I was being asked to record music that I didn’t believe in, and spend more time on the road and working than I thought was healthy. When I bucked back, they asked me what was more important, “my marriage, or my career?”, or “my beliefs, or my career?” I knew the answer… but it wasn’t what they wanted to hear.

I still remember walking into Jim Ed Norman’s office, President of Warner Bros. Records Nashville at the time. It was a typical hot summer day in Music City, and I felt sick to my stomach. My reasons for asking out of the seven album record deal included creative differences with the label, but they ran even deeper than that. I had really been struggling personally with how I was perceiving my career. It had begun to hold a lot of importance for me, and I wondered if maybe it had become too important. So, to prove to myself, and I guess in some ways to God, that my career and all of the dreams

that had come true didn’t have too strong a hold on me, I walked into the office of one of the most powerful people in the business in Nashville at that time, and asked him to let me go. I think he thought I was negotiating, playing hardLball, because my manager received a call shortly after offering more financial support to my projects… but I was truly finished with playing the game their way. I had told him that I’d honour my word, and finish my contract, but that I felt we were moving in two different directions, and would like to be let go from the deal.

He didn’t let me out of my obligations immediately, and the albums that came next were “Outside The Frame”, “That’s The Truth”, and “What I Want To Be Remembered For”. Finally, that fateful day on the “That’s The Truth” Tour, while backstageat Massey Hall in Toronto, my manager got the call, and I was set free. I’d never felt more liberated, and I’d never been more terrified. The future was a blank slate. What was I going to do now?

I had never written a song while on the road to that point in my life, but the song “Out Here On My Own” tearfully flowed out, and a new era had begun…

I was just following my heart

It was one of the hardest thingsI’ve ever done. It wasn’t really a plan or idea, it was all about conviction;

.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

It was 1997, and throughout the music industry there were rumbles of what the ‘internet’ might mean to the business. I asked the label at Warner/Reprise what their plan was, and they literally, wordLforLword, told me that the internet was “a passing fad, like the CB radio”. I kinda figured we were in trouble.

That troubling fact, combined with the beginning of creative differences and pressure from the label to compromise my vision for my music and my career, really caused me to take a step back and reLevaluate. My career was doing well, we had an incredible launch with “Calm Before The Storm” in sales and radio success. I was selling out shows. By all accounts, things were going great, but something didn’t feel right.

I had been touring to the tune of about 190 shows a year by that time, and was starting to notice that it was harder and harder for Liz and I to find the time we wanted to be spending together. We really missed each other. At the tail end of seven weeks on the road, we met up in Phoenix, Arizona, and put all the cards on the table. We discussed

“Leavin’” was performed by Paul on the 2003 Canadian Country Music Awards before the recording for the song was completed. As the

host that night, Paul serenaded Wynonna, Shania Twain, and Keith Urban with parody versions of their own songs. The response was

undeniably positive and Paul went on to receive a Gemini Award for his host performance that night. Weeks after that performance,

Keith Urban showed up at Combustion Music on Music Row to record the guitar solo parts on the final version of the song.

THIS TIME AROUND & RISK D The Brand*T Studio Albums[ ]

Together

“This Time Around” & “Risk” both went on to collect Album/Recording of the Year awards from the CCMA and the JUNOAwards respectively, but this wasn’t really the goal. It was nice to get the recognition, I won’t lie, but to see the platform of my celebrity used as a tool to actually start to change people’s minds and lives really started to become a focus for me. Whether it was a fan thanking me for the lyrics to “Scars Are Beautiful”, or people across the nation combining efforts during our “Risk” tour to raise money for clean water initiatives around the world with Samaritan’s Purse and their “Turn On The Tap” campaign, I was really starting to feel the true power of music. It really spotlighted my responsibility in all of this, and it lit a fire and a passion for me to continue making music for as long as people will let me.

Together, we can continue to make the most of this time around... taking risks, and changing the world. I say ‘continue’, because really, we already have. I can’t wait to see where this new chapter takes us!

The idea behind both albums was to cover new ground artistically and sonically. With noDone to tell me what to do or how to do it, it was very freeing, but a bit scary. It was up to me and my longtime musician friend and coDwriter Steve Rosen, and mix engineer Ben Fowler to come up with a sound that my fans would enjoy, and still reach my creative goals. I love music that entertains, that lets the listener escape; songs like “Convoy” and “Leavin”, or even “The King”do that... but I also like to challenge people, and myself. Music shares a point of view that can broaden horizons, and I think that function of music is often ignored today, so songs like “The Sycamore Tree”, “Risk”, and “That’s What I Love About Jesus” had to be a part of the formula as well.

It was during the Risk album that the JUNO Awards decided to give me the Alan Waters Humanitarian Award in 2008. It was a career highlight for me to have the opportunity to accept that award at the JUNO’s Gala dinner. Brought onstage by Laureen Harper, Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s wife, I was able to share my feelings about why I feel compelled to work on humanitarian issues at all. That video clip is included in this package on the DVD.

It is my sincere hope that you’ll watch that speech, and more than anything, that you’ll learn about the kind of love that I believe has been made available to all of us, and it’s ours for the taking!

That award and the trips and the emotions that they stirred around that time became catalysts for a new foundation, and a new movement. It was out of these things that priceles$ was born...

This Time Around(BrandDT) August 2004

Risk(BrandDT) September 2007

On the heels of the release of “Small Towns & Big Dreams”, Paul and co%writer/co%producer Steve Rosen were asked, along with other New York, L.A., and Nashville songwriters and artists to watch a screening of the Mel Gibson motion picture “We Were Soldiers”, and to write a song based on their reaction to that movie. The song “For You” was written, and a demo made, which can be heard on the “Then” CD with Paul singing on the demo recording. That song was chosen for the project and included on the “Music From and Inspired By” CD which accompanied the movie’s release, and was sung by Dave Matthews, and Johnny Cash. “For You” was one of the last songs ever recorded by Johnny Cash.

PRICELESS * The Foundation[ ]

What is a life worth? As the world continues to get smaller and change through the internet, I’ve started partnering with my fans, my friends really, in a new unique way to reach out to the world.

After the success on our Risk Tour of our ‘Turn On The Tap’ promotion with Samaritan’s Purse or SP (it raised over $320,000.00 in 19 shows), I traveled to Ethiopia and Egypt with SP. I took Kellie Moore, a contest winner and fan of my music, on the SP trip, and she told me she had a great time, and really learned a lot, and it got me thinking... “What if I started bringing people who like my music on more of these trips, and the world gets to see what they see, in their words, through their eyes?” The idea for priceles$. sprang from a trip to Cambodia in November of 2009. Lara Howsam, a Masters of Journalism student at UBC at the time, won the next contest, and blogged about everything she experienced while we learned about an orphanage called ‘Place of Rescue’, and then were exposed to the dark world of International Human Trafficking and its ties to that part of the world.

Thousands of people followed Lara’s blog as she openly and honestly shared what she was seeing and learning. It was another powerful display of the way that music can be used to spotlight ideas, causes, and even raise funds to make a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Through donations, corporate partners, and by partnering with me and my music, funds will be raised to support organizations that are recognizing the limitless value of human life. That’s why priceles$. exists. By donating, buying ‘priceles$.’ products (like this Now Project), and by opening your hearts and minds to the causes that priceles$. spotlights, you can join the movement as it seeks to reach out to a hurting world.

.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

All of Paul¹s charitable efforts have now been combined into his foundation. By purchasing this project, a portion of proceeds has been

raised toward promoting the limitless value of human life, including fighting Human Trafficking, Homelessness, Starvation and Poverty.

You’ll notice there’s a blank space in the “Now” Bookset packaging, that space can be filled?in when the “Just As I Am” album is released in 2012.

I was 6 years old when I remember starting to understand the difference between right and wrong for the first time. I had been playing ‘tag’ with some friends, and I decided to try out using God’s name as a curse word... I honestly didn’t know what I was doing, but I knew it didn’t feel right. My parents hadn’t started attending a church at all yet, so I had no other reason to feel guilty about what I’d done, except that I believe we all have that little voice inside, some would call it a conscience, that helps us to discern what’s ok, and what’s not.

It wasn’t long after that, my parents began going to The West Hillhurst Gospel Hall in Calgary, and I heard, for the first time, about someone named Jesus. They told me He was God’s Son. They explained that everyone is under the curse of sin; the whole world is hurting because of it, and as a way of escape from the consequences of this curse, God loved us enough that he sent his only son to pay the price that we would have had to pay. He allowed his son to be killed, on a cross, to take our place. Amazing.

I was deeply moved. I had a hard time believing that someone would love me so much that he’d give his life for me, and I knew at that early age of 6 that I wanted to love Him back. You see, once you’ve

received a gift like that, it makes you want to give your own life back in return, by serving Him, and following His teachings.

As I’ve gone through life, I’ve found it more and more incredible that He knew about all of the bad things I’ve done, and would do, and will do, and still, He chose to give His life for me.

I’ve always avoided using my music to cram my ideas or beliefs down anyone’s throat, or force my views on people, so it’s with gentleness and respect that I share this story, and these ideas with you. I love the fact that we all have free?will, the ability to believe and choose whatever we want to believe. I also can’t ignore the fact that “since I gave my heart to Him...” as I sing in the song “That’s What I Love About Jesus” on the “This Time Around” album, my life has changed, “been set free”.

How selfish would I be to have found such an amazing treasure, and then keep it to myself? I believe I’ve found “the secret to life”, and His name is Jesus... and He wants to have a relationship with you too.

I hope that as you listen to the “Just As I Am” album that you hear the passion and conviction that I sing these songs with. They are the foundation on which I’ve tried to build my life, and I’m so pleased to get to share them with you.

Give It Away(Brand2T) September 2011

“The Highway Patrol” & “Last First Kiss” might stick out like unusual choices in the fabric of this project, but I really believe they fit in their own way. I don’t ever want to forget about the sense of humour and thrill of romance that come along with music, and to me these songs embody both of these ideas. I’m still a sucker for a power love2ballad... and I always will be. Plus, it was really fun making the video for “Highway Patrol”, and when I see Joe’s eyes light up every2time he sees a police car now, and then hear him yell at me to “slow down” or he’ll “write me out a ticket”, well, it just tickles my funny bone. Nothing like a 2 and 1/2 year2old law2enforcement officer...

Not to dwell in the past or anything, but I feel like I’ve “come into my own” now more then ever with regard to my ‘sound’ and the way I like my voice to be heard, so I thought a revisitation of my biggest hits would be appropriate.

..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

This album was largely inspired by reflection on my life to this point. Becoming a father has both made me more care2free, and more serious, all at the same time. I guess it’s just infused a new passion into living for me. It’s been good. It’s caused me to explore what I think is important, what I want my legacy to be, what I want to be remembered for, more than ever. Whether it’s the message of “Together Again”, and the hope that I have that I’ll see my friend Jesse again (who I lost to ALS during the making of this project), or the simplicity and emotion of “Start With Love”, written for my first child, my son Joseph, this collection of songs is more diverse, and more soul2searching than anything I’ve recorded to this point.

NOW 2 Forever Isn’t Waiting[ ]

One of Paul's first performances of the hit single "Give It Away" was for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at a private reception

hosted by Prime Minister Harper. His first album of new material in four years, "Give It Away" is also the theme song for the CMT

Television series "Paul Brandt's Build It Forward". The album includes re%visited versions of two of Paul's biggest hits, "My Heart Has

A History", and "I Do".

“My Heart Has A History” has a more bluesy, coy, and I hope ‘cool’ feel to it this way, probably not a ‘radio’ offering, but it was a lot of fun to re2record, and “I Do” has a more grown up, and time2tested feel to me produced in this way. I hope that die2hard fans of the original recordings will enjoy comparing these re2takes, and then sticking to whatever versions they like best. I can’t say I prefer one over the other... they are just snapshots... the same pictures taken from different angles and through new lenses.

“Worth”, “You”, “Give It Away” and “Now” all kind of spring from the same place creatively for me, exploring motivations, deep, obsessive love, and the value of life, and honestly, it scared me a bit going there. I stray just a bit past the rockin’ feel of “Leavin’” on these songs, and loved the process. Country is and always will remain my musical North Star, and while these songs are in the same solar system, they are definitely a bit of a departure. I guess I’m just feeling more and more comfortable sharing my true self, and seeing as we only have so much time, I figured I don’t want fear to ever get in the way of anything I do, and the worst thing I could utter some day as my time runs out is “I wish I would have...”, so why not? Ready or not take your best shot, ‘cause here life comes. You use what you got and you’ve got it all when you got love. Now... give it away...

I don’t want fear to ever get in the way of anything I do

Calm Before The Storm (Original Recording)(Paul Brandt) ©1993 Foothillbilly Music/Giant Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)

Your blue eyes looked so peaceful / While the storm raged on in me / The tears filledup my eyes and now I finally see / I’ve been livin’ high and mighty / But now I’m at an allBtime low / Now I’m reaching out to hold you / As you turn around to go / I should’ve been more careful / I should’ve seen the signs / While all was calm, I guess / I should’ve read between the lines / So, now I’m standin’ in the cold, hard rain / Instead of with you safe and warm / A fool who took your love for granted / In the Calm Before the Storm / So, I’m standin’ here alone / I’ve never felt like this before / Can’t believe my heart’s been broken / Just like waves against the shore / I could always love and leave them / I was the first one out the door / I can’t get used to the idea / Not being with you anymore / A fool who took your love for granted / In the Calm Before the Storm

Small Towns & Big Dreams (Studio Version)(Words & Music: Paul Brandt) ©2001 Foothillbilly Music/Giant Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)

I grew up in a small town / A wheatBfieldsBforBaBdowntown kind of place / There wasreally not much around / You blink and you miss it / I never knew what life would bring / But I always had big dreams / I love to play my guitar and sing / And every night I’d wish that / I’d get a shot on the Opry stage / And have people come and see me play / Blastin’ on the radio waves / Enough to make my mama cry / That’s where I come from / That’s who I am / HardBworkin’ and GodBblessed / Yes sir, and thank you ma’am / The best things around that I have ever seen / Came from Small Towns and Big Dreams / That small town went and grew up / But I never changed much by God’s grace / Friends and family kept in touch / When I moved to Tennessee / I sing my songs and travel ‘round / I met a girl and we’re settling down / We want to find a small town / Where we can raise a family (’cause) / Been around the world don’t matter anywhere I go / From small town stars to city lights I’ve found my kind of folks / It’s about you and who you are, it’s all a state of mind / And as I’m givin’ you my heart I hope you find

Hope (Studio Version)(Words: Paul Brandt. Music: Paul & Liz Brandt) © 2002 Giant Foothillbilly/Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)

I can’t believe / You found me here / You saved me in the nick of time / Just when I thought / Nobody cared / You reached out and with your hand took mine / You know just how to pull me through / That’s what I love about you / You give me Hope / and I can face another day / All it takes is love and faith / and the courage to believe / You give me Hope / and there’s nothing I can’t do / I get all my strength from you / Saying you will stand by me / You give me Hope / It might be dark / And I might be scared / But whatever this life brings / Knowing that you / Will always be there / I can take on anything / If you’re beside me in this fight / I know I’ll make it through the night

For You(Paul Brandt/Steve Rosen) © 2002 Foothillbilly Music/Giant Foothillbilly (BMI/SOCAN)/Fuzzy Pop Music (BMI)

I will drink the cup / The poison overflowing / I will lift you up / Watch over where you’re going / The first one in and the last one gone / I’ll be a rock to stand upon / For you / For you / My spirit aches / And I can’t stop this river flowing / In fear I take / Each labored breath I draw in knowing / That this could be my life, my final hour / But faith and hope and love give me the power / For you / For you / though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death / I will fear no evil / For you are with me / You are with me / I’ll be your salvation / Tho’ the storm surrounds / There are no conditions / Lay my body down / In awake abandon / Willing sacrifice / I’ll walk through the canyon / Bring the shadows light / For you / For you

The Flame(Paul Brandt/Steve Rosen) © 2009 Foothillbilly Music/Giant Foothillbilly (BMI/SOCAN)/Fuzzy Pop Music (BMI)

I stumble through the shadowed woods / Alone and cold and tired / In the corner of my eye / The warm glow of the fire / I smell the smoke / I feel the heat / I see you standing there / I hear the beauty call to me / I taste it on the air / No safety net / No guarantee I’ll make it out alive, but I know / the answer’s somewhere in between / here and the other side / of the heart / of the flame / Afraid of walking through the blaze / Can I bear the pain / Heaven’s there within my reach / There is no other way

Give It Away(Paul Brandt) © 2011 Foothillbilly/Giant Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)

Ready or not / take your best shot cause here life comes / You use what you got and you got it all when you got love / But we hide it and we store it up / and there never seems to be enough / This world is spinnin’ so fast / No slowin’ it down now / No there ain’t a lot that lasts / But now I think I found / A way to make love stay / You got to Give it Away / Talk about time / it’s flown away before you’re done / And money is fine / but one day it’s here, the next day gone / So love’s lookin’ like the sure bet / Cause the more you give, the more you get / Oh and someday everybody dies / but not everybody really lives / And when it’s my turn to say goodbye / I don’t want nothin’ left to give

Now(Paul Brandt/Steve Rosen) © 2010 Foothillbilly/Giant Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)/Fuzzy Pop Music (BMI)

I used to try to hold the future in my hands / Tried to make tomorrow turn out like I planned / and there’s no use in thinkin’ about yesterday / I can’t go back there anyway / It’s a ‘What have you done for me lately?’ world / we only have today / then it spins and turns / And forever isn’t waiting, and time keeps counting down / To Now / Gonna make a move like it’s my last stand / Draw my line deep in the sand / Gonna take my time, give my life, my love / you can keep the fame and money cause there’s never enough / Oh, how we spend our moments is how we spend our lives / We only have today / Now / What have you done for me lately / Spins and turns

Together Again(Paul Brandt/Brad Rempel) © 2010 Foothillbilly/Giant Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)/Centricity Music (BMI)

I’m just a man on this spinning globe / Who am I / What do I know / But I’ve got a feeling that even when the music ends / Goodbye doesn’t say it all / There’s another play when the curtain falls / We’re all rehearsing for forever but until then / Whoah...oh... oh / I guess / That’s just the way this old world works / Moments of heaven mixed with moments of hurt / I’ll be waiting til we are together again / Everything’s falling apart right now / But with all of the hope that my faith allows / I’ll be waiting til we are together again / The time we had was touched by God / and I’m thankful but I had a thought / I wondered why something so perfect ever has to end / I fought and prayed and screamed out loud / But the silence never told me how / How to keep on living til we are together again

Worth(Paul Brandt/Steve Rosen) © 2010 Foothillbilly/Giant Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)/Fuzzy Pop Music (BMI)

When the night / falls into the darkness / when the moon / turns it’s back on the sky / I’ll be there on the east horizon / I’ll be there / in the nick of time / I’m gonna rise / I’m gonna fight / keep believin’ / I’m gonna prove / that you can count on me / I’m running across / this battle line / and I ain’t leavin’ / I’d lay down my life / cause that’s what you’re worth to me / I will stand / by the word I gave you / til you see / what a promise means / I am / your eleventhBhour rescue / I am the one who’ll set you free

You(Paul Brandt) © 2010 Foothillbilly/Giant Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)

There’s something ‘bout the things you do / The way you smile the way you move / The way that you walk through a room / Can’t get it off my mind / In the day and in the night / In the dark and in the light / In the noise, and in the quiet / It happens all the time / And all I want / All I ever think about / All I ever dream about is / You / At times when you’re not even there / I still see you everywhere / You have become the air / and everytime I breathe

THEN B Disc Seven[ ]GIVE IT AWAY B Disc Five[ ]Start With Love(Paul Brandt) © 2010 Foothillbilly/Giant Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)

Well your mom and me / we think it’s pretty neat / How our love turned out this way / when we heard your heart / Oh, right from the start / both of us were changed / Watchin’ love grow a little more each day / If I could show you everything I’ve ever learned / I’d start with Love / Sum life’s meaning up into just one word / I’d start with Love / Oh and this can be a complicated life / But I’ve seen how everything will turn out right / (yeah, I promise everything will be just fine) / When you start with Love / It’s the A B C’s / and then 1 2 3 / and daddy play with me right now / all these tiny things / they add up pretty big / and that‘s got me thinkin’ ‘bout / how life’s too short and how I wish time would slow down (so I could) / and the storms may come / and the winds mayblow / but if you just remember this / it’s all you’ll need to know

I Do(Paul Brandt) © 1996 Warner/Tamerlane Publishing Corp./Pollywog Music (SOCAN/BMI)

I’ve seen the storm clouds in your past / But rest assured ‘cause you are safe at home at last / I rescued you, you rescued me / And we’re right where we should be / when we’re together / I know the questions in your mind / But go ahead and ask me one more time / You’ll find the answer’s still the same / It won't change from day to day / for worse nor better / Will I promise to be your best friend / And am I here until the end / Can I be sure I have been waiting for you / And did I say my love is true / Baby I will, I am, I can, I have, I do / I know the time will disappear / But this love we’re building on will always be here / No way that this is sinking sand / On this solid rock we’ll stand forever

Last First Kiss (Paul Brandt) © 2010 Foothillbilly Music/Giant Foothillbilly Music (BMI/SOCAN)

The shadows fade / I see the light as you walk through / It’s like I’m blinded by the sun / Today / All I see is you / And from this moment on / I want you to be my one and only / I wanna hold you like this / I wanna lay down the sad and lonely / I want you to be / My Last First Kiss / So here we are / On the edge of all our days / tryin’ to stare tomorrow down / take this to heart / that whatever this life brings / I’m givin’ you my word right now / (I want you to see / You’re all I need)

My Heart Has A History(Words & Music: Mark D, Sanders/Paul Brandt) © 1996 Starstruck Writers Group, Inc./Mark D. Sanders Music (ASCAP)/Warner%Tamerlane Publishing. Corp./Pollywog Music (SOCAN/BMI)

My heart has a history / Of hurtin’ those who mean the most to me / Before you get too close to me / I think you oughta know / While other hearts are holdin’ on / While other loves are growin’ strong / My heart has a history of lettin’ go / The first time I looked into your eyes / I knew this moment would arrive / I got a feelin’ you’re the one / But my heart keeps tryin’ to turn and run / The problem is this happens every time (’cause) / If we can take this one kiss at a time / Then maybe we can tame this heart of mine / I’m telling you the cold, hard truth / I ain’t ever been loved by the likes of you / And I ain’t ever had this much on the line, but / Yeah, my heart has a history of lettin’ go

Highway Patrol(Words & Music: Red Simpson, Dennis Payne, Ray Rush) © EMI Music Publishing (BMI)

I got a star on my car and one on my chest / A gun on my hip and the right to arrest /I’m the guy who’s the boss on this highway / So watch out what you're doin’ when you’re drivin’ my way / If you break the law, you'll hear from me, I know / I’m aBworkin’ for the state, I’m The Highway Patrol / Well, you’ll know me when you see me, ‘cause my door’s painted white, / My siren aBscreamin’ and my flashin’ red lights / I work all day and I work all night / Just aBkeepin’ law and order, tryin’ to do what’s right / If I write you out a ticket, then you’d better drive slow / I’m just aBdoin’ my job, I‘m The Highway Patrol / I’m the Highway Patrol, the Highway Patrol / My hours are long, and my pay is low / But I’ll do my best to keep you driving slow / I’m just aBdoin’ my job, I’m The Highway Patrol / If your drivin’ too fast like you shouldn’t do, / You can bet your boots, I’m comin’ after you / If you wanna race then get on a race track, / ‘Cause if you try and run away I’m gonna bring ya back / I’m here to keep all the speeders driving slow / I’m just aBdoin’ my job / I’m The Highway Patrol
