The Gospel challenges us to use wisely the gifts that we have been given. We have been entrusted with the work of the Kingdom-to proclaim the Good News and to bring God’s love to every person and situation that we encounter. We are to be witnesses of the grace given to us in baptism and confirmation. Let us pray for the youth of our parishes as they begin their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. May the Holy Spirit guide them to understand who they are in God’s eyes and the wonderful plan God has for them. Many thanks to those who have been offering a helping hand with a number of things happening at the moment. The pastoral team continues to be puzzled as to the number of people who just haven't “clicked in” to the whole family of parishes concept even though we have been talking about it in practical terms since last January and started even before that when the Bishop first announced the Family of Parishes project 2 years ago. A principle of advertising surmises that people don’t always listen attentively and need to hear the message over and over again. Many have assumed, wrongly, that when they don’t see us at “their” church on a particular weekend that we are “away again” on vacation (a lovely thought, amusing but alas not true). Each weekend, Fr. Daniel and I are in 2 or 3 of the churches for mass on a rotating schedule. It is an adjustment but one that has gotten easier. We ask your continued patience and understanding in this new model of ministry. Soon 6 to 9 more families of parishes will be announced and activated in June 2020. This is the new reality for our Diocese. It is challenging but at the same time we are seeing many blessings. As mentioned many times, we all need to grow in patience, understanding and openness.

Time

From the desk of Fr. Rob……..

The Gospel challenges us to use wisely the gifts that

we have been given. We have been entrusted with

the work of the Kingdom-to proclaim the Good

News and to bring God’s love to every person and

situation that we encounter. We are to be witnesses

of the grace given to us in baptism and

confirmation. Let us pray for the youth of our

parishes as they begin their preparation for the

Sacrament of Confirmation. May the Holy Spirit

guide them to understand who they are in God’s

eyes and the wonderful plan God has for them.

Many thanks to those who have been offering a

helping hand with a number of things happening at

the moment. The pastoral team continues to be

puzzled as to the number of people who just haven't

“clicked in” to the whole family of parishes concept

even though we have been talking about it in

practical terms since last January and started even

before that when the Bishop first announced the

Family of Parishes project 2 years ago. A principle of

advertising surmises that people don’t always listen

attentively and need to hear the message over and

over again. Many have assumed, wrongly, that

when they don’t see us at “their” church on a

particular weekend that we are “away again” on

vacation (a lovely thought, amusing but alas not

true). Each weekend, Fr. Daniel and I are in 2 or 3 of

the churches for mass on a rotating schedule. It is an

adjustment but one that has gotten easier. We ask

your continued patience and understanding in this

new model of ministry. Soon 6 to 9 more families of

parishes will be announced and activated in June

2020. This is the new reality for our Diocese. It is

challenging but at the same time we are seeing many

blessings. As mentioned many times, we all need to

grow in patience, understanding and openness.
