About Us

Memoriam Glass is a celebration of years of combined research, development and

expertise that now sets a new dimension for today’s Memorials.

Profile Glass, Memoriam Glass’s parent company, has over 12 years of experience in the

decorative, sculptural and industrial glass industry.

All of the artwork and production of the glass memorial is done in house or using local manufacturers. This gives greater control over the production and the high quality of finish

expected by Memoriam Glass.

Our production techniques allow for easy installation, without requiring any specialist

glazing knowledge.

Glass Memorials have been widely accepted in European cemeteries for decades and now

this beautiful alternative is being introduced to Australia.

Safety Safety is paramount; our 40mm laminated glass headstones can withstand considerable

force. In the unlikely event of breakage, it will hold together unlike plate glass. Our memorial plaques are also laminated and/or toughened for safety as well as being fully

framed for added security.

Inscription Method

The standard method for inscription is sandblasting or etching. This involves removing a

layer of the glass leaving a frosted finish. Other colourful methods include ceramic fire

glazing, digital printing, and fusing.

Sandblasting

The glass is masked with an abrasive resistant material and

then blasted using special sand to remove the unprotected

surfaces. This technique allows for the use of a large

amount of text as well as 2-tone images. Sandblasting also

allows for the addition of future inscriptions.

Name Tablets

To allow for the addition of further details, we use name tablets

mounted onto the front of the granite base. The unused locations

can be covered using an art tablet or protective stainless steel

covers.

Fused Lettering & Images

Glass can be fused onto the surface to the headstone using a

variety of colours. This is ideal for making the family name

standout.

Textured Glass

By heating the glass to extreme temperatures, the glass becomes

textured according to the moulding beneath the glass. This allows

for a unique memorial with various textures, images and text able

to be embossed into the glass.

Fired Glazed Lettering and Imagery

Ceramic fired lettering can be silk screened onto the headstone.

This allows for the use of colour in the text and imagery whilst

maintaining a high level of detail. There is a wide variety of colours

available to chose from, starting from the traditional gold through to

reds, purples, yellows and black.

Photo and Image Tiles

Photos of loved ones and images that represent their lives can be

inserted onto the glass headstone. The image is digitally printed

onto a plate of glass and then secured onto the headstone with a

stainless steel border.

Simply supply us with the images or specify the type of images you

would like to use and we can find and supply one for you. If you

would like to supply a photo, please provide us with a high quality

digital photo indicating the area that you would like to use. If you

only have a printed photo, we can scan it in but the quality may not

be as good as a digital image. Images can be supplied on CD,

The strength of our business is to be able to assist in the creation of a personalised

After receiving your requirements, we create concept drawings of your Personalised

Memorial. The design can then be changed if you wish or we can go into production.
