THINGS TO DO TODAY: BRAINSTORM – You may talk with your family, but
each person will turn in your own storybook! Choose a cover for your book and get FOUR sheets of
paper for your inside pages Choose names for your two societies – these may be
cities, countries, etc. Decide how you’ll bind your book Number the pages Put your name and period at the bottom of the back
cover Choose a title for your storybook
OVER THE WEEKEND: Write out the story, reviewing the
instructions to decide which parts of the story will appear on each page spread
Brainstorm/sketch illustrations that you will use on each page spread
MONDAY: Transfer the story you wrote over the
weekend to your storybook pages, paying close attention to what information is required on each page
Draw and color illustration for each page spread
MONDAY NIGHT/TUESDAY: Finalize writing the book and drawing
the illustrations Write the Reflection and “About the
Author” blurb Review your work using the
checklist/rubric Bind the book
WEDNESDAY: Come in ready to turn in the Storybook
Project at the beginning of class!
