OnAugust27,theCounciloftheCityofPointe-Clairewasshockedtolearnofthepresence

ofPCBs at86Hymus Boulevard,withoutauthorisation from theMDDEFP,onaproperty

ownedbyReliancePowerEquipmentLtd.

TheCouncildecidedtoactimmediatelywithitsusualtransparencyandprovideinformation

tothecitizensofPointe-Claire.Tothisend,theCouncilisissuingachronologicalsummary

of the events that led to the announcement made by the Minister of the Ministre de

Dveloppementdurable,delEnvironnement,delaFauneetdesParcs(MDDEFP)regarding

theorderbroughtagainstReliancePowerEquipmentLtd.onThursday,March29,2013,as

follows:

Reliance,withacertifiedcopyto theCityofPointe-Claire,confirmingthatcontainerspossiblycontainingPCBs

arestoredonthesite.

July10,2013:ReceiptofanemailfromtheDirectiondelaSantpubliquedeMontral,addressedtoMr.LucSt-

Martin,requestingthatareportbesubmittedtotheMDDEFPontheprogressbeingmadeinthefile.

July16,2013:ReceiptofacertifiedcopyofalettersentbytheEnvironmentContrledesrejetsindustriels

branchfortheCityofMontraltoReliance,confirmingthepresenceofPCBsonthesite.

July19,2013:TheMDDEFPwritestoReliancerequestinganewcleanupplan,referringtothreeothernotices.

TheCityofPointe-Claireisnotawareofthecontentofthesenoticesbecauseitdidnotreceivethem.

July24, 2013: TheMDDEFP sends theletter ithad sent toRelianceon July 19to theDirection dela sant

publique,acopyofwhichtheCityreceivesfromtheDirectiondelasantpublique.

July24,2013:Pointe-ClairesCityManageronceagainrequeststhatameetingbeheld,butthistimewiththe
