Time

Design a range of patterns/prints to be sold

through an agent, within the limitations of being a

freelance designer.

Design themes split into 4 seasons, working 2

years ahead of items being on the

shelf, meticulous planning put into

colour/graphic/print trends.

Ready to be manufactured 1 year before on the

shelf therefore, completed designs to be with

agent at least 6months before that.

• Amount of time the consumer is going to be

looking at my product: samples of what will be

sold as a PDF file.

• Development and Production Deadlines effect

the way Designs will be sold and type of designs

the consumer is looking for.

• Limits creative input but increases profit by

following trend guidelines.

Designing to last…

By designing pieces that are sensitive to current

trends yet have link with being from a brand.

Selling well to the consumer. Providing the

backup work to show design process and

exploration-aiming for upper market stores, not

fast paced high street.

Licensing the print to the brand/designer. Giving

a personal link and as another means of

marketing the designer.
