SourceThe United Nations national accounts questionnaire 2011 for Timor-Leste is based on the Timor-Leste’s NationalAccounts 2004-2010 (TL-NA 2004-2010) produced by the National Directorate of Statistics (Departamento deEstatísticas Económicas - DEE) under the General Directorate for Policy Analysis & Research (DGAR) of theMinistry of Finance. It has just been released on May 15, 2012. The TL-NA 2004-2010 is the second publication onnational accounts since independence, following the publication in 2005 of national accounts for 2000-2003. Thetwo sets of estimates are not consolidated.
GeneralThe estimates of Timor-Leste’s National Accounts (TL-NA) 2004-2010 are based on the concepts andclassifications of the System of National Accounts 2008 (2008 SNA), and the sixth edition of the Balance ofPayments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6).
The TL-NA 2004-2010 represents an integrated set of accounts that includes estimates of Gross DomesticProduct (GDP) compiled using the three compilation approaches - the production measure, the expendituremeasure, and the income measure.
The GDP estimates are further extended down to Gross National Income (GNI), Gross National DisposableIncome (GNDI) and Gross Saving.
The detail metadata are presented in the companion Volume II of the publication - Methodological notes onConcepts Methods and Sources, published and available online on the DNE website athttp://dne.mof.gov.tl/national_accounts/index.htm.
