TinkerbellThe Scourge of Neverland

Origin

 According to Disney Studios, Tinkerbell

was born in Pixie Hollow in Neverland and

disliked her talent as a tinker fairy (Disney

45). She tried all the other talents and

decided that she was indeed a tinker

(Pan).

The Real Tinkerbell

In reality, Tinkerbell should be tried for

“attempted murder” in the case of

Wendy Darling (Barry 334). She

repeatedly tries to get rid of Wendy in the

Peter Pan story (Barry 322).

Powers/Strengths/Weakness

She can help people fly with the powers

of pixie dust (Disney 67).

She is able to locate lost items quickly

(Disney 45).

She can fix almost anything (Disney 34).

She is insanely jealous (Barry 1-400).

Current Views of Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell is now seen a sweet loving

creature that may make mistakes, but

always learns from (Disney 200) and she is

no longer seen as the murderous imp that

wants nothing more than to see Wendy

Darling dead (Pan).

Compared to Other Fairies

Tinkerbell is sweet and loving compared

to the Irish and English fairies spoken of in

traditional folklore (Pan). Traditionally,

fairies have been known to steal children,

trick people, and just be down right

mischevious (Disney 13).
