Tips & Welfare Policy - The Assemblies Ltd The Canteen, No.1 Harbourside & The Old Market Assembly We are delighted that you are part of our teams, and you absolutely deserve every bit of gratuity you get! This policy has been implemented to keep it fair across people in the team and the company. The team are to receive 100% of any tips/service charge given – no deductions will ever be made by the company. All cash tips received (tip jars, food bills or other) are pooled together and distributed at the start of each month The monetary value you receive is calculate per hour worked in the venue for FOH and BOH It is a legal obligation to pay tax on any cash tips received directly from a customer. If you file in a Self Assessment tax return, you are required to include cash tips in it. There is no set service charge for tables – your excellent service will earn these We do not currently accept tips on card as we do not operate a ‘tronc’ system – however, customers are welcome to withdraw cash and offer tips that way If the cash tips on a shift work out as over five pounds per person working that night, then you are permitted to split the tips evenly between those on shift and take home on the night. The venue management team are permitted to take tips, but may also opt out should they so desire Any bonuses administered by the company will be in your monthly pay packet, with National Insurance and taxes deducted accordingly Future Focuses By the end of 2019 we will be looking at a formal tronc system, enabling us to take card tips and be able to distribute the money as per legal guidelines (in your pay packet, with the appropriate NI and tax deductions) We are going to trial introducing a set discretionary 10% service charge for tables of 8 people or more from the end of November Most recently reviewed on: 1 st August 2019 Signed Leo Croker Operations Manager The Assemblies Ltd
