NAPs for safety-related traffic data

• Members states shall manage National Access Points for SRTI data

• National bodies have to assess compliance

• Data and service providers have to submit a Declaration of compliance in all countries where they are active (Article 9: road safety-related categories covered, format of the data, the means of dissemination of the information service to end users)

Joint effort:

• Self-assessment is the most likely manner

• Risk of high administrative burden for both National Bodies and data/service providers

• During a series of TISA - EU EIP workshops: stakeholders recognized & agreed on the need for an harmonised approach with a Uniform Declaration of Compliance Form

Uniform declaration: Key principles

• No official ‘decision’, it will be a model declaration. Organisations are free to use it (or not)

• Contribute to common understanding of Delegated Regulation

• Should lead to win-win for Member States, road authorities/operators and digital map producers/service providers

• Complies to minimum requirements as mentioned in the Delegated Regulation

Outcome

• Uniform Declaration of Compliance for priority action ‘C’ (2016)

• Introduction Letter

• Explanatory terms to facilitate common understanding

Joint effort • Building on the experiences gained from DoC for Priority Action C • Distinction between road operators/authorities and digital map

producers/service providers
