Title sequence. Alfred Hitchcock – Psycho In this title sequence Alfred Hitchcock uses a black screen with white writing in order to create more of an effect. This also makes the writing more prominent making it easier to read. He also uses several different transitions such as a wipe transition; this is used to introduce the cast members of the film. He introduces the cast members with grey line which appear before the cast members’ name. Hitchcock also uses a dissolve transition into the establishing shot which is the first shot that is seen in the movie. There is no camera angles and lighting used. However, an establishing shot is used to set the scene for the thriller.
