• Why do you need to remember this? – In case they use the word Cro-Magnon

• The first one will be your study guide for Early Humans

• You will receive the second one on Thursday for Mesopotamia

• Please copy down the notes on the index card to use as an additional study tool on top of your notes

• Hunter-gatherers had to adapt to many changes– Once they were able to adapt to their environment,

they could establish permanent communities– When they couldn’t acquire goods they could not

produce, they had a surplus of goods that they could trade

• Homo-erectus was the first species to venture into different climates of Europe. Adjusting to the cold weather was difficult because they had to locate food during the winter seasons

• Domestication of grains (plants) and animals resulted in permanent agricultural settlements

• Hunter-gatherers experimented with agriculture 12,000 years ago because the earth’s climate warmed and more plants began to grow- Ice Age ended!
