Augmented A i r M a i l Services.

It is notified for information that, com­mencing on the 4th July, 1937, air mails for Southern, Western and Central Europe wi l l be forwarded by machines of the Imperial A i r ­ways on Sunday and Saturday in addition to those made up at present on Monday, Thurs­day and Friday.

These mails wi l l be due to reach many parts of Europe by the evening of the following day and the United Kingdom and countries in Western Europe one day later on.

In consequence of the increased frequency of service on part of the route and changes in the time table of the Imperial Airways England-South Africa service the latest times of posting of air mail correspondence for countries in Africa wi l l be amended as from the abovemen-tioned date.

F u l l particulars of the revised times of post­ing may be obtained from any Post Office or Postal Agency.

^ T H E PALESTINE J E W I S H COLONIZATION ASSOCIA-TION (EDMOND DE ROTHSCHILD FOUNDATION).

At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Members of the above-named Association duly convened and held at 28, Rue Hamelin, Paris XVIe, on the 22nd day of March, 1937, the sub­joined Resolutions were duly passed in manner required for the passing of Special Resolu­tions :

RESOLUTIONS.

1. That Article 39 of the Articles of Associa­tion of the Association be deleted and the fol­lowing Article substituted therefor, namely: —

"39 (a) The said JAMES A R M A N D DE R O T H ­SCHILD is at the date of the adoption of this Article President of the Association and of the Council and (subject to the provi­sions of Article 50) he shall hold those \ offices and shall remain a Member of the Council unti l he shall die or resign and he may appoint a successor by Deed or W i l l to hold those offices after he shall have ceased to hold them through death or otherwise, and such successor shall hold the said offices unti l he shall die or resign and shall have the same power of appoint­ing a successor as that vested by this Art ­icle in the said JAMES A R M A N D DE ROTH­SCHILD. Any appointment by Deed under the provisions of this Article shall be ex­ecuted either before or within three cal­endar months after the person making such appointment shall have ceased to hold office as President of the Association and of the Council.

( b ) Whenever there shall be a vacancy cap­able of being filled under the provisions of paragraph ( a ) of this Article in the Offices of President of the Association and of the Council the Members of the Coun­cil may elect one of the Rothschild nomin­ees on the Council to hold such offices, but any person so appointed shall hold the said offices only until an appointment thereto shall be made by the said JAMES A R M A N D DE ROTHSCHILD or the successor ap­

pointed by him to the said offices, or by the Council under the provisions of para­graph (c) of this Article.

(c) In case the said JAMES A R M A N D DE ROTH­SCHILD or the successor appointed by him to the said offices shall cease for any rea­son to hold the said offices and shall fail to exercise his power of appointing a successor under paragraph ( a ) of this Article or when the person appointed by the successor of the said JAMES A R M A N D DE ROTHSCHILD shall cease to hold the said offices, the Council shall from time to time thereafter elect some one of their number or some other person to be Presi­dent of the Association and of the Coun­cil for such period not exceeding three years as the Council in its discretion may think fit Provided that whenever a mem­ber of the Council is elected by the Coun­cil under this paragraph to be President of the Association and of the Council an additional Member of the Council shall be appointed so as to restore the number of its Members (exclusive of the President) to a multiple of three in accordance with Article 38 hereof. And Provided further that i f the person so elected shall have been a nominee of the Jewish Colonisation Asscoiation on the Council then that As­sociation shall appoint such additional Member; but i f the person so elected shall have been appointed to the Council by a General Meeting of the Association or by Baron Edmond de Rothschild or by the said James Armand de Rothschild or the successor appointed by him or his succes­sor to the said offices such additional Member shall be appointed by the Council and shall hold office only until the next General Meeting of the Association when he shall retire but shall be eligible for re­election.

"(d)Every person appointed or elected to the said offices under the provisions of this Article shall (subject to the provisions of Article 50) be ex officio a Member of the Council so long as he holds the said offices."

2. That Article 41 of the Articles of Asso­ciation of the Association be deleted and the following Article substituted therefor, namely:

"41 (a) Subject to Article 40 hereof the said JAMES A R M A N D DE ROTHSCHILD and every other person for the time being holding the offices of President of the Association and of the Council as the appointee of the said JAMES A R M A N D DE ROTHSCHILD or his successor under the provisions of para­graph (a) of Article 39 hereof shall be en­titled to nominate and appoint in writing one third of the Members of the Council for the time being, exclusive of the Pre­sident. Every Member appointed by the said JAMES A R M A N D DE ROTHSCHILD or by the successor appointed by him or his suc­cessor to the offices of President of the As­sociation and of the Council shall vacate office at his appointor's pleasure or when his appointor shall die or shall cease to hold the said offices or at such earlier period as may be expressed in the instru­ment appointing him.

(6) The Jewish Colonisation Association shall be entitled from time to time to nom­inate and appoint one further third of the

Members of the Council (exclusive of the President) and Members appointed by the Jewish Colonisation Asscoiation shall hold office during its pleasure.

(c) Unt i l the happening of some event whereby the appointment of the President of the Association and of the Council be comes permanently vested in the Council under the provisions of paragraph (c) of Article 39 hereof the Association in Gen-

•eral Meeting shall from time to time ap­point the remaining third of the Members of the Council, exclusive of the President.

(d) After the happening of some such event as aforesaid, the Members of the Council (other than the President) shall be ap­pointed as regards one third thereof by the Jewish Colonisation Association and as regards the remaining two-thirds there­of by the Association in General Meeting.

(e) Any casual vacancy among the Members of the Council appointed by the Associa­tion in General Meeting shall be filled by

the Council. Any person so appointed shall retain his office only until the next Ordinary General Meeting of the Associa­tion but shall then be eligible for re-elec tion."
