SECTION I.

INTRODUCTION

1. Scope

This manual lists repair parts required forthe performance of organizational, direct sup-port, general support, and depot maintenanceof the pump.

2. General

a. The repair parts list is arranged as fol-lows:

Individual parts and major assembliesare listed alphabetically by item namewithin the numbered functionalgroups.Assembly components and subassem-blies are intended and listed alpha-betically by item name under majorassemblies.

b. This Repair Parts and Special Tools Listis divided into the following sections.

Prescribed Load Allowance (PLA)-Section II. A consolidated listing ofrepair parts quantitatively allocatedfor initial stockage at the organiza-tional level. This is a mandatory min-imum stockage allowance.Special Tools, Test and SupportEquipment-Section III. A list ofspecial tools test and support equip-ment authorized for the performanceof maintenance at the organizationallevel. (NOT APPLICABLE)Repair Parts-Section IV. A list of re-pair parts authorized for the per-formance of maintenance at the or-ganizational level.Repair Parts-Section V. A list of re-pair parts authorized for the per-formance of maintenance at the direct

3. Explanation of Columns

The following provides ancolumns in the tabular liststhrough VI.

a. Source, Maintenance, and RecoverabilityCodes (SMR).

(1) Source Code. Indicates the selectionstatus and source for the listed item.Source codes used are:

Code ExplanationP Applied to repair parts which are stocked

in or supplied from DSA/GSA or Armysupply system, and authorized for use atindicated maintenance categories.

M Applied to repair parts which are not pro-cured or stocked but are to be manu-f actured at indicated maintenance cate-gories.

A Applied to assemblies which are not pro-cured or stocked as such but made upof two or more units, each of whichcarry individual stock numbers and de-scriptions and are procured and stockedand can be assembled by units at in-dicated maintenance categories

ExplanationApplied to parts and assemblies which are

not procured or stocked, the mortalityof which is normally below that of theapplicable end item, and the failureof which should result in retirement ofthe end item from the supply system.

Applied to repair parts which are notprocured or stocked, the requirementfor which will be supplied by use of thenext higher assembly or components.

Applied to repair parts which are notstocked. The indicated maintenancecategory requiring such repair pintswill attempt to obtain them throughcannibalization; if not obtainablethrough cannibalization, such repairparts will be requisitioned with supporting jusitification through normalsupply channels.

Applied to repair parts authorized for lo-cal procurements. If not obtainablefrom local procurement, such repairparts will be requisitioned through nor-mal supply channels with a supportingstatement of nonavailibility from localprocurement.

Applied to major assemblies that are pro-cured with PEMA (Procurement Equip-ment Missile Army) funds for initialissue to be used as exchange assembliesat DSU and GSU maintenance level.These assemblies will not be stockedabove DSU and GSU Ievel or returnedto depot supply level.

Note. Source code and level of mainte-nance am not shown on common hardwareitems known to be readily available in Armysupply channel and through local procure-ment.

Maintenance Code. Indicates the low-est category of maintenance author-ized to install the listed item. Themaintenance level codes are:

Recoverability Code. Indicates wheth-er unserviceable items should be re-turned for recovery or salvage. Itemsnot coded are expendable. Recover-ability codes are:

ExplanationApplied to repair parts and assemblies

which are economically repairable atDSU and GSU activities and normallyare furnished by supply on an exchangebasis.

Applied to high dollar value recoverablerepair parts which are subject to special handling and are issued on an ex-change basis. Such repair parts nor.really are repaired or overhauled at de-pot maintenance activities.

Applied to repair parts specifically se-lected for salvage by reclamation unitedbecause of precious metal content, criti-cal materials, high dollar value re-usable easings or castings.

This column also lists, below the SMRcode, an index number for each itemin ascending numerical sequence,which is used to locate items in thepublication when the Federal stocknumber and/or reference number isknown.

b. Federal Stock Number. Indicates the Fed-eral stock number for the item.

c. Description. Indicates the Federal itemname and any additional description of theitem required. A part number or other refer-ence number is followed by the applicable five.digit Federal supply code for manufacturers inparentheses.

d. Unit of Issue. Indicates the unit used as abasis for issue, e.g. ea, pr, ft, yd, etc.

h. Quantity Incorporated in Unit Pack. Indi-cates the actual quantity contained in the unitpack.

f. Quantity Incorporated in Unit. Indicatesthe quantity of the item used in the functionalgroup.

g. Fifteen-Day Organizational MaintenanceAllowances.

(1) The allowance columns are dividedinto four subcolumns. Indicated ineach subcolumn opposite the first ap-pearance of each item is the totalquantity of items authorized for thenumber of equipments supported. Subsequent appearances of the same itemwill have no entry in the allowancecolumns but will have in the description column a reference to the first ap-pearance of the item. Items authorized

for use as required but not for initialstockage are identified with an-aster-isk in the allowance column,

(2) The quantitative allowances for or-ganizational level of maintenancerepresents one initial prescribed loadfor a 15-day period for the number ofequipments supported. Units and or-ganizations authorized additional pre-scribed loads will multiply the numberof prescribed loads authorized by thequantity of repair parts reflected inthe appropriate density column to ob-tain the total quantity of repair partsauthorized.

(3) Organizational units providing main-tenance for more than 100 of theseequipments shall determine the totalquantity of parts required by convert-ing the equipment quantity to a deci-mal factor by placing a decimal pointbefore the next to last digit of thenumber to indicate hundredths, andmultiplying the decimal factor by theparts quantity authorized in the 51-100 allowance column. Example, au-thorized allowance for 51–100 equip-ments is 12; for 140 equipments mul-tiply 12 by 1.40 or 16.80 rounded offto 17 parts required.

(4) Subsequent changes to allowances willbe limited as follows: No change inthe range of items is authorized. Ifadditional items are considered neces-sary, recommendation should be for-warded to U.S. Army Mobility Equip-ment Command for exception or re-vision to the allowance list. Revisionsto the range of items authorized willbe made by this Command based uponengineering experience, demand data,or TAERS information.

h. Thirty-Day DS/GS Allowances.(1) The allowance columns are divided

into three subcolumns. Indicated ineach subcolumn, opposite the first ap-pearance of each item, is the totalquantity of items authorized for thenumber of equipments supported,Subsequent appearance of the sameitem will have no entry in the allow-

ance column, but will have in the de-scription column a reference to thefirst appearance of the item. Itemsauthorized for use as required but notfor initial stockage are identified withan asterisk in the allowance column.

(2) The quantitative allowances for DS/GS levels of maintenance will repres-ent intial stockage for a 30-dayperiod for the number of equipmentssupported.

(3) Determination of the total quantity ofparts required for maintenance ofmore than 100 of these equipmentscan be accomplished by converting theequipment quantity to a decimal fac-tor by placing a decimal point beforethe next to last digit of the numberto indicate hundredths, and multiply-ing the decimal factor by the partsquantity authorized in the 51-100 al-lowance column. Example, authorizedallowance for 51–100 equipments is40; for 150 equipments multiply 40 by1.50 or 60 parts required.

i. One-Year Allowances Per 100 Equip-ments/Contingency Planning Purposes. Indi-cates opposite the first appearance of eachitem the total quantity required for distributionand contingency planning purposes. The rangeof items indicates total quantities of all author-ized items required to provide for adequatesupport of 100 equipments for one year.

j. Depot Maintenance Allowance Per 100Equipments. Indicates opposite the first ap-pearance of each item the total quantity au-thorized for depot maintenance of 100 equip-ments. Subsequent appearances of the sameitem will have no entry in this column, but willhave in the description column a reference tothe first appearance of the item. Items author-ized for use but not for initial stockage areidentified with an asterisk in the allowancecolumn.

k. Illustration.(1) Figure Number. Indicates the figure

number of the illustration in whichthe item is shown.

(2) Item Number. Indicates the calloutnumber to reference the item in theillustration.

4. Special Information

a. Repair parts mortality has been based on1000 hours of operation per year.

b. Parts which require manufacture or as-sembly at a category higher than that author-ized for installation will indicate in the sourcecolumn the higher category.

c. The following publication pertains to thepump and its components:

5. How to Locate Repair Parts

Find the illustration coveringthe functional group to which the re-pair part belongs,Third. Identify the repair part on theillustration, and note the illustrationfigure and item number of the repairpart.Fourth. Using the Repair Parts List-ing, find the functional group towhich the repair part belongs and lo-cate the illustration figure and itemnumber noted on the illustration.
