We catch an exclusive chat with the world-wide singing sensation that is Melissa Hassam.The star talks about how she was inspired for her musical career, music style and the direction in which her image would go.

InspirationWhat first inspired you to learn the numerous amounts of instruments?

Well, to be honest i was a lover of music since the age of about 4/5 so I used to see people like Celine dion and Gwen stefani and i thought they looked really cool so i decided to take a crack at playing guitar and stuff like that.

So you have idols and people that inspire you then?

I suppose so yeah, i have people that i would love to be on the same creative level as such as Adele and Paloma Faith and people like that.But I’m my own person, and i’m an artist who tries to be original

So does that mean you wouldnt recommend idolisation?So you wouoldnt recommnend idoli-sation?

(sighs) I think its good to have a goal and a model of what you want to be like but i think it is always better to add your own spin on something to make it more original.That way you can have a base of what you want or who to aspire to be like but then origi-nalioty can gwt you further

So does that mean you wouldnt recommend idolisation?So what would you recomend to do if you are lacking inspiration?

I just think that you should listen to all ranges of music and dot just stick to one genre and then you can blend your own idea of what you want to do
